Third floor common room [Too karking early for a Sunday, Cade]

Cade had gone for a nice long run around the island and was now working industriously in the common room kitchen making green juice (heavy on the kale, naturally) and nice hot bowls of gruel oatmeal.

Breakfast was the most important meal of the day, you know!

Anyone hungry?

Will tended to be up pretty early each day so he could go on runs of his own so he wasn't entirely surprised to find someone else around. If he'd known Cade, he would have been surprised but he didn't.

"Morning," he greeted with a nod. "Getting an early start to the day?"

Will eyed the juice and hesitated. "It's very...green. Is it for St. Patrick's Day or something?"

"What's in it?" Will asked, stepping closer to take a look at the drink.

Will pulled a face because...that did not sound like an inviting combination at all.

"And that tastes...good?" Because yeah.

"Where'd you even learn to make something like this?" Will had to ask. He was comforted with the fact that it apparently didn't taste horrible though. "Experimentation?"

"Good morning," Celia greeted Will, a bit hesitantly. Their last encounter had been fairly disastrous, and even if she was on more solid ground now, she worried she'd say something to make him think she was crazy again. "Are you going to try the green juice?"

She was still debating it, personally.

[identity profile] livebytherules.livejournal.com 2014-03-16 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't think so," he said, scratching his cheek. "It's a little too green for me and I know what he put in it."

[identity profile] pasunereveuse.livejournal.com 2014-03-16 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"Iron," Celia said ponderously. "I don't know. I feel as though drinking metal is a bad way to start off the morning. Maybe that's just me."

[identity profile] livebytherules.livejournal.com 2014-03-16 02:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"Wait, what?" Will asked, blinking a few times. "He put metal in it? He didn't tell me that."

[identity profile] pasunereveuse.livejournal.com 2014-03-16 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"Iron," Celia supplied. "But then he told me I need it to run. I mean, maybe some metal is necessary but there's no need to become excessive."

[identity profile] livebytherules.livejournal.com 2014-03-16 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh! Oh, that kind of iron," Will said, finally getting it. "I don't think he meant the actual metal. Iron's a vitamin. A nutrient that's in certain foods that's healthy for you. So, not really metal."

[identity profile] pasunereveuse.livejournal.com 2014-03-16 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"I still don't see why I need more if I'm perfectly healthy now," she pointed out. "Why add more of these nutrients if we're fine as we are? No one here appears to be sick, at least."

[identity profile] livebytherules.livejournal.com 2014-03-16 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"It can be a preventative thing," Will explained with a shrug. "A way to make sure you don't get sick. And some people have iron deficiencies which means they need things like his weird looking shake just to stay healthy."

[identity profile] pasunereveuse.livejournal.com 2014-03-16 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"What is that?" Celia asked, wandering out to the common room and frowning at the...concoction. "Oh, no. Don't tell me that suddenly all juice is green, now."

That would be too much, in terms of shifting realities.

[identity profile] pasunereveuse.livejournal.com 2014-03-16 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Why is it green?" Celia asked warily. That seemed like a good place to start.

[identity profile] pasunereveuse.livejournal.com 2014-03-16 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"Then why did you put it in?" Celia asked, perplexed. What was the point of adding an ingredient that was tasteless?

Celia had much to learn about juicing. She hadn't even been introduced to Pinterest yet.

"Iron?" Celia repeated, alarmed. "Like...the metal? Should you be drinking that?"

Celia also had much to learn about nutrition.
