Third Floor Common Room, Sunday afternoon

Working under the specious logic that if he couldn't remember anything before yesterday that anything dumb he did today might be forgotten soon anyway, Jonathan - no, JOHN Storm set up some chips, a few bottles of pirate rum, and a sign just outside the common room announcing the Let's Make Some Mistakes We Won't Remember Party.

He had to get creative with some of the entertainment, but John was pretty sure this whole thing would work out regardless.

There were some "HELLO My Name Is" nametags and Sharpies by the doorway. You could use whatever name you figured out or make up your own name. It didn't really matter, nobody remembered anyway.

The best way to deal with amnesia was rum, clearly. Go ahead and drink until you can't remember that you can't remember stuff.

AKA excuses to drink more. This was rum straight from the squirrels, people. The RADIO SQUIRRELS. You'd drink too if you just experienced that.

This is happening mainly because I had stupid thoughts about the OCD. Gotta run with that sometimes.

I'll be slow sometime around lunchtime. Just a warning!

"Okay, there's a game called I Never where somebody says something they've never done, and then if you HAVE done it, you have to take a drink. Nobody remembers crap, but why let that stop us? I say we change it to if something sounds like something you'd want to do, have a drink."

"Like, I've never had a drink!" John said before taking a drink. "And I've never climbed a mountain!" He took another drink.

Mara had woken up in a bush wearing trashy lingerie yesterday. Clearly she made bad choices with her life and so this party was just the place for her.

She slapped a "Hello my name is MARA (I think)" on her right boob and looked around the room. Maybe someone would know why she'd been outside yesterday morning...

"Okay, I have to ask," John said, walking up and noting the name tag. Yes, he was looking at the name tag. Not what the name tag was on. "Why do you think your name is Mara?"

After the end of his library shift, Garik made his way up to the common room. A party would have people, and people would have answers.

After carefully printing "GARIK" on a tag (instead of the symbols he kept trying to write), he looked around. Playing it cool, like there wasn't some kind of vaguely incompetent assassin after him and Travis.

"Hey there, welcome to the party," John said. He wasn't sure what the deal with the guy's face was, but hey, it might help the girls think John was even handsomer in comparison, so he was happy to have Garik around. "Grab a drink and have some fun."

If Johnny had known the deal with his face, Garik would have dearly liked to know about it.

"I'm sure I will." Especially if he could find some answers here.

"Garik," John said. "I'm pretty sure I've never heard a name like that before, but nothing's positive right now. Is that your last name? I'm John, but you know that from the name tag."

"It's the first name on my ident." Though not he'd mentioned it, there was something about it...not wrong, but not quite right either. "John seems like kind of a weird name too."

In a galaxy far, far away...

"Really?" John asked. "I'm pretty sure it's, like, the most basic name. Like if parents don't bother naming a baby boy, the hospital will just call him John."

Garik was oddly sure Johnny wasn't lying, but still..."It doesn't sound at all familiar to me."

"Well, amnesia affects everyone differently," Johnny said with the utmost confidence. Did he actually know that? Of course not. But he believed it right now.

She fished her ID card out from her bra. "I woke up with this. It says Mara."

Travis felt a little better after finding and talking to Garik. And with their plan in mind, he figured stopping into a place where a lot of people might be was a good idea.

So, he was there wearing a nametag with the name TRAVIS written in sloppy scrawl. He looked around, hoping to recognize someone. Besides Garik, he saw no one he knew.

"What else do you have hidden in there?" John joked. "I'll take that as enough proof of your name. I'm John." John pointed at his name tag. "Nice to meet you, Mara."

"Hey.... Travis," John said as he read the name tag. "Welcome to the party. Nice to meet you, probably."

"Wouldn't you like to know," Mara said, smirking.

Mara, no.

"It's nice to meet you too, John. So it's a whole bunch of us with no memory now?"

"You too," he said, managing a small smile. "Guess that means you don't know me either, huh? I keep hoping and keep getting let down."

"You might need to get a couple drinks in me before I answer that first question honestly," John said, returning the smirk. The answer was totally yes. "But yeah, I was just forced to do a radio broadcast where it sounds like there's one guy in the entire town who remembers stuff."

"The only thing I really know is that I'm great at coming up with party ideas," John said. "And I'm willing to run with that for now. So, sorry, but the only help I can give you is a cup for rum."

"Is he here?" Mara asked, peering around anxiously.

"Nah, he's some dude with a house who took in people who got WAY too into kinky sex stuff yesterday," John said. "That's probably enough for me to stay away until I get desperate for some knowledge."
