4th floor common room- Wednesday after classes

Yesterday's class had gotten pretty ridiculous, and because Gwen was a totally rational person who felt like she should have been granted sainthood somewhere around hour five of the discussion, today there was gonna be a party.

That's right, ladies and gentlemen! There'd been hastily-photocopied flyers put up around the dorms this morning to advertise (and warn anyone who didn't want to stumble into it). Gwen had taken advantage of the pizza place's weird fixation on giving extra food and so there was plenty in the kitchen, there were (non-alcoholic) drinks and popcorn, and there was nothing but moddable dirty movies on the TV. There was plenty of room, come and stay as long as you want!

That's what she said.

(But don't actually do that, ew.)

[Open, and this is me trying to keep your flists clean at work! Can't guarantee the comments will be worksafe, though. You can miss the flyers if you'd like to innocently stumble in anyway, and also feel free to bring your own movies.]

"I am," Eleanor said, blushing a bit to admit it. "Joker says I shouldn't judge based on just the one I saw, so I'm going to analyze the bloody hell out of these. Then make a full report back."

That ought to show him. No preconceived notions here!

"Really?" Eleanor asked, a touch awkwardly. "I don't mean to -- I won't ruin the fun for everyone else, I promise."

She didn't care much if other people liked pornography, as that didn't much affect her, personally. Hypocrisy, thy name was Eleanor.

"I'm mostly here to score points in a ridiculous argument with my boyfriend," Eleanor admitted. "But I suppose I can't do that without learning. Mocking and pizza sound good."

"I imagine some people are here for the prurient interest," Eleanor said. "Or at least to fill some curiosity."

She wasn't judging them for it. Prurient interest was more valid than 'scoring points in a ridiculous argument,' really.

"Not even remotely," Eleanor said. She frowned, abruptly, at the screen. "Isn't that girl about to scratch herself in a highly uncomfortable place?"

Eleanor shuddered, a full-body sort of wriggle. "You could not pay me enough to get fingernails that length down there," she said. "Which raises uncomfortable questions about how she functions in everyday life, with nails that long."

Using the bathroom without perforating any of her internal organs.

"I hadn't even thought of that," Eleanor said. "I still don't have one of these modern telephones. I'm told they have rather delightful games."

She wasn't clear on why one wouldn't buy a gaming device to play games and a telephone to call people. No one had really explained that one.

"I think if my nails were that long, I'd seriously injure my cat."

"GPS?" Eleanor asked. "I've been meaning to get a phone just so I can converse to people when I'm out and about. And I've seen the game with the pigs who stole eggs from the birds."

That was her information on phone games, in its entirety.

"Seriously?" Eleanor said. "That sounds bloody useful. That is, I imagine it would be on the mainland. Hard to get lost around here."

She hadn't realized how big the surface was going to be. She had tended to visualize continents as much bloody smaller than they were. This planet was immense.
