4th floor common room- Wednesday after classes

Yesterday's class had gotten pretty ridiculous, and because Gwen was a totally rational person who felt like she should have been granted sainthood somewhere around hour five of the discussion, today there was gonna be a party.

That's right, ladies and gentlemen! There'd been hastily-photocopied flyers put up around the dorms this morning to advertise (and warn anyone who didn't want to stumble into it). Gwen had taken advantage of the pizza place's weird fixation on giving extra food and so there was plenty in the kitchen, there were (non-alcoholic) drinks and popcorn, and there was nothing but moddable dirty movies on the TV. There was plenty of room, come and stay as long as you want!

That's what she said.

(But don't actually do that, ew.)

"...is there a party?" Celia had missed the flyers, but she'd come up to the fourth floor anyway (shh, her boyfriend lived up here, she had reasons) and thankfully had wandered in when the content on the screen wasn't too questionable. At least, not enough that she noticed, yet. She was distracted by the surplus of food, which usually signaled a party, in her experience.

Of course, it being what it was, that relative lack of dirtiness on the screen probably wasn't going to last a whole lot longer. Oops. "What's the occasion?"

"Kathy was annoying," Gwen said. She was satisfied with that reason as it was, but then clarified, "There was a lot of weirdness happening in class yesterday so today's a day for education."

That didn't come from Tumblr. That was probably what bothered Gwen the most.

"Finding this interesting?" Joker asked, with a smirk. "You know, I wouldn't have thought that this was your cup of tea."

Travis's reaction to wandering into the common room and catching sight of what was currently playing on the television was laughter. He wasn't a purveyor of porn by any means but laughter covered up embarrassment well.

"This was definitely not mentioned in the brochure," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. "Interesting cinematic choice there."

"It's a thing that needed to happen," Gwen said, waving him in. "Come on in and watch dirty movies with us."

That was what Celia was just going to greet nearly everyone with, probably. Otherwise she'd have to explain that she maybe didn't mind watching some of this. And she was learning!

Alana had seen the fliers, so she went to the common room after she shut down the bookstore. Humping humans seemed like an excellent distraction from humping paperbacks.

She squinted at the screen before waving hi to Gwen. "Okay, a, I didn't know backs bent that way, and b, are you trying to get Kathy and Eleanor's heads to explode?"

Not that she totally disagreed with everything they'd said, but class really had gotten ridiculous by the end.

"Hey, Kathy challenged me. If her head explodes, that's her own fault. Eleanor I'll be nice to, though," Gwen said. Especially since Eleanor had seemed to have some personal reasons for her opinions. "Also I don't know how people move like this. They should maybe see doctors."

"We're learning! This is edu -- oh, hello," Celia greeted her roommate, actually looking a bit relieved to see her. "Sorry, I've been telling everyone it's educational lest they think we're just being lewd in public for no reason."

"My head won't explode," Eleanor said cheerfully. "I'm here for educational purposes."

She was filling up a notebook with things she didn't like (and possibly a few she did, but if asked about that, she'd shove the page into her mouth and chew).

Edward hadn't seen any flyers. He'd just done as he usually did 'round here and followed the smell of food.

...and then paused. "What are we looking at?"

"Things our parents would probably disapprove of." Well, Gwen's parents wouldn't. Aunt May probably would have done the same thing at her age. "Join us!"

"It's educational," Celia told him, because that was just what she was yelling at people who came in who might get the totally incorrect impression that she might be enjoying watching people have sex, at all.

It also did not answer his question, really.

Sparkle had missed the posters, but so help him, he had a radar for food.

For food and porn, apparently.

"Well, holy shit. Second floor is losing more and more awesome points to the other floors every day."

Yes, he was already reaching for a bowl of popcorn and depositing himself on the couch with a grin. Hey, who was he to turn up such a riveting opportunity to socialize?

"What's the occasion?"

"Class got obnoxious, so now we're learning about the movie industry," Gwen said.

Celia needed to just, like, tattoo that on her forehead or something. Maybe she could make a sign and just wave it at the new people coming in.

Alana flicked a potato chip at Sparkle's chest by way of greeting. "Nothing. We just wanted a little girl-with-really-long-fingernails on girl-with-really-long-fingernails with our pizza."

All right, Eleanor was definitely here. This was important research. This way, she could actually back up all of the terrible opinions she already held about pornography, like that it was turning her boyfriend into some kind of pervert and probably made her breasts look small.

She had a notebook and was going to catalogue every single thing she objected to.

(And maybe, maybe, there was another page in the notebook, for anything she possibly liked. Hush.)

"You're taking notes?" Gwen asked, actually interested.

Barry had seen the flyers and decided to make the best of class awkwardness and join the fun.

"Oh look! An afternoon of culture and education." He said flopping into a chair. "Sorry if I'm underdressed but my tux is at the cleaners."

"It's okay. If you think you're underdressed you should see the people onscreen," Gwen said.

Oh, like Kathy was going to pass this up. It was basically a challenge and she was not about to back down from that.

As soon as she saw the sign, she ran upstairs to grab a notebook like she'd said she would and then returned, snagging a spot in a chair with the full view of the TV and then a bunch of pizza slices and a large cup of soda. All important necessities so she could stay put through the whole showing.

Funny how a hefty dose of irritation could counteract any potential embarrassment to what she was watching.

Gwen gave her a little nod, but didn't say anything. Mostly because she'd heard enough yesterday and also because she was actually having a lot of fun here.

Kira had seen the posters, but there was a difference between the idea of this get-together and actually seeing it in action. She peeked her head in just to see if what was supposed to happen was really happening, and turned bright red when she caught sight of the TV. "Oh my god, seriously?"

"Yeah, we went there," Gwen said, almost apologetically. She knew Kira was one of the... more innocent? girls in class and didn't want to make her too uncomfortable. "There's pizza, too."

The fact that Johnny was at the porn movie party shouldn't have been a surprise. It combined a few of his favorite things. If he wanted to be surprising, he was going to have to do something extra. Like, say, bring cards numbered 1 to 10 so he could judge the performances on screen. This was what happened when you got him using a computer.

He grabbed a drink, settled into a chair, and started judging. And that was a solid 8 right there. The facial expression sold the moment.

"Did you bring enough to share with the rest of the class?" Gwen wondered.

Cecil was curious to see how the conversation from yesterday would play out here. He came by on his own, though - Foucault was still pretty young to be looking at this sort of thing.

He watched the TV for a few seconds, sighed at all the girl parts there, and went over to look at the pizza. "What sorts of movies are there?"

"A total variety," Gwen said. "I'm not sure I covered all the bases but I tried to get something for everyone." Which meant there was total guy-on-guy stuff! Partly because Gwen was curious.

Andros had missed any flyers, so when he came into the common room in search of food he just had to stop and uh. Stare. And stammer: "Oh, that's--uh, oh." Yeah, that was about all he could come up with.

"Come join us," Gwen said with a wave. "We're both joking and having in-depth discussions!"

Seriously this whole thing had turned out kinda awesome.

A porn party? Joker was all over that. ...Except for the fact that Gwen was throwing it, and Eleanor would probably be there, and possibly Kathy, and oh, this could turn into a nightmare.

So he was was still smiling when he came in, but it was a tentative sort of smile. "Hey, I brought some good porn, if anyone wants it -- although the cheesy stuff is more fun to mock. I hope that doesn't come across as too creepy or weird?"

Well, if it turned into a nightmare, Gwen probably wouldn't be involved! She waved him in and said, "We're alternately mocking and having serious discussions. All brands are welcome."
