4th floor common room- Wednesday after classes

Yesterday's class had gotten pretty ridiculous, and because Gwen was a totally rational person who felt like she should have been granted sainthood somewhere around hour five of the discussion, today there was gonna be a party.

That's right, ladies and gentlemen! There'd been hastily-photocopied flyers put up around the dorms this morning to advertise (and warn anyone who didn't want to stumble into it). Gwen had taken advantage of the pizza place's weird fixation on giving extra food and so there was plenty in the kitchen, there were (non-alcoholic) drinks and popcorn, and there was nothing but moddable dirty movies on the TV. There was plenty of room, come and stay as long as you want!

That's what she said.

(But don't actually do that, ew.)

"If I'm watching for a group party and not for my own private enjoyment, I think that dialogue is the best part," Johnny said. "Because I don't know how it goes. Are they trying to remember lines while in the middle of exaggerated boning? Or are they trying to improv during it? Either way, there's strong comedy potential."

Celia watched thoughtfully for a moment. "She seems much more into the dialogue than he is," she offered. "I feel like she's really pushing for them to be talking during this, and he's just sort of brushing her off. There's nuance to be read into, you're right."

Yes, there were tons of subtleties in this porn movie, totally.

Johnny held up a 6. "That's for her effort and also for him not doing a good enough job at distracting her. Be a more giving paid lover, man."

"So we're grading them as a unit, not as separate entities?" Celia checked. "Because I really feel that we should make that into a higher score for her and a lower score for him and his total lack of effort. He's barely paying attention."

Celia was not at all impressed with the overall male performance in these films. The ladies generally seemed to be giving it their all, though!

"I'm grading the entire experience," Johnny said. "We're not grading anything until I actually know who you are. I'm Johnny. Grader of Public Porn."

"Celia. First Time Viewer and Amateur Grader," she said, raising her brows. "A blanket score seems awfully unfair. It's not her fault he's so unenthusiastic. She's trying her best."

Don't ask why Celia was trying to defend this pornstar's commitment to performance.

"Honestly, I'm downgrading them more for the directing. I've seen the boom mike twice, and that's not a euphemism," Johnny noted.

"That lighting is flattering to no one," Celia added helpfully, as she did not know what a boom mike was but assumed it was something to do with the set dressing. "Candlelight or a softer lightbulb would produce much fewer...harsh angles. They should get negative points for that as well."

Johnny lowered his 6 and held up a 5. "You know, I didn't think my first time watching porn with a girl would involve this much critiquing. I know it's my own fault for the numbers, but a week ago, I never would have seen this coming."

"Which is more than I can say about what that guy's doing. We all knew that would happen, though."

"These things do seem to be awfully predictable that way," Celia noted, wrinkling her nose a little at the screen. "The grading helps, for whatever that's worth. Or at least it's helping me. Five seems fair."

And viewing it as a thing to be critiqued just added to her argument about it being educational, after all. She was building a case, here.

"I'd almost mark them down for the bland set, but it's actually clean. So there's that," Johnny said. She seemed more comfortable focusing on things that weren't sex acts, so he was throwing Celia a bone, not in a sexy way.
