Sixth Floor Common Room, Saturday evening

There was a sign that said "NO BOYS ALLOWED" on the entrance, but how harshly that would be enforced would probably be dependent on how tolerant said Boys were of manicures, rom-coms, make-up, hairstyle fun, and jumping into the ball pit.

After a week like the last one, a little girl-bonding seemed needed.

"Yes!" Hanna jumped back over the couch, nodding vehemently. "Have you heard of parkour? I saw an advertisement the other day, and it looked like gymnastics, but not quite." She started carefully filing her nails, trying to get them to look like claws. "...I think I am a little sad that the pollen is gone now. But mostly relieved."

"I am so relieved. Being a teenager in the land of hot people is hard enough when you're not literally itching with desire." Her hands had gotten quite the workout. "We get to talk without flirting now."

"I don't think I was very good at the flirting," Hanna said, mostly matter-of-fact, with a little ruefulness. "But people were kind about it. And I didn't over-react this time." She looked up finally, and said, "How does this look?"

"Oh I like that!" Raven grinned. "Just the right amount of drama. And flirting just needs practice."

Pleased, Hanna pulled her hair up and out of the way, so she could experiment with the other make-up they'd bought. "Can I practice on you? Or would that be awkward?"

"It'll just mean I have to wash my face later," Raven said. "Any particular look you want to start with? I could look like you, if you want. It'd be even more accurate than a mirror."

Hanna blinked, then nodded rapidly, smiling. "Please! And... oh, I want to look professional first. As if for a job interview."

"So you'll want to go clean and understated. Enough that you can tell you're putting in an effort, but not so much that you look like you're going out to a party or something." Raven shifted to a clean, make-up less Raven look. "A good pink lip, maybe, and some earth-toned eye shadow."

Hanna shifted forward to put carefully line Raven's lips, then used the lipstick to make them nicely pink. "I could learn how to blend in anywhere, not like you, but. I could still hide in plain sight, or at least from security cameras," Hanna mused aloud.

"Like a spy," Raven said. "Disappear in plain sight."

THat was just eerie. Hanna stared at - Raven/herself-- and then shook her head. "What do you think would look good on me? You always look exactly as you like."

"Golds and pinks," Raven said. "Maybe a really pale blue. You have such a unique look, you should play it up!"

Hanna finished the look on Raven, and admitted, "I look-- you look, I mean-- very different, like this." And that was a good thing, if anyone ever came looking for her. "Maybe a little more gold? Do you ever want to leave your hair red, when you change?"

"Sometimes," Raven said. "Mara's red hair is gorgeous. It'd be fun to go around with that color for awhile."

"Maybe I could do something to mine." Or maybe not. She didn't need to look so different that she didn't recognize herself. "There." She gave Raven-her a pleased look. "I look like I'm eighteen, at least. Maybe twenty."

Raven grinned. "You could go strawberry blonde without looking too different, I think. That's blonde but with some red to it. Almost pink."

"I thought I saw dyes that were not permanent, at Turtle & Canary." Hanna reached for the popcorn, and popped some in her mouth, thinking aloud. "Would those cause much damage? Or is there a way to prevent that?"

Yeah, Hanna was asking the wrong person these questions. "I bet they've figured out some ways to prevent that stuff by now."

"Research," but fun research, at least. It had been seven weeks since she'd come here, and Hanna now felt like she should be working toward something. Even if she was not sure what, it might help to have a new identity. With a new look, and a new name? Maybe.

"...why did that girl just sit on that balance beam?" You were confusing her, Sports Movie.

"They're losing on purpose to protest the judges," Raven said. "Judging on this stuff didn't even make sense in my time."

Hanna blinked a bit, then had to grin. "I would never have thought of that," she admitted. "But it seems like a good way to -- shame them?" She wasn't sure of her English on that.

"Definitely," Raven said. "Make them look dumb for being all critical when what they're doing is amazing."

"Yes!" Hanna was still watching. "I would probably just refuse to participate. But that would change nothing. This is more effective." She grinned. "And funnier."

"It's pretty. . . ." What was the modern term? "Bad ass. This is on television. They could be ruining their reputations forever. But they're doing it anyway."
