Saturday found Kathy in a much better mood than she'd been in previous days. Enough so that rather than staying in the room she shared with Raven (who had curled up smaller than Kathy had ever seen her under her blankets in the night) and finishing off the last of the cereal in sulky silence, Kathy had decided to head to the common room to make a real breakfast. French toast, she was thinking. With--hey! A package of bacon in the fridge that needed to be used within the next day or so. Excellent! And some gaeran tost-u to make it really feel like breakfast at home.

Oooh. There was honey. She could make honey-butter! For the regular toast!

She put the TV on for some quiet background noise (was Crying Breakfast Friends playing on EVERY channel?) as she bustled around the kitchen making a hearty breakfast for herself--and maybe even a bit to share if others showed.

[Open for incoming kids! Though with SP warning as there's a sleep and a wedding to get to. Warning: - possible tw for child abuse mentions in this Dante, folks.]

So...coed slumber party! Kathy had finally decided to stop stressing over it and just throw the stupid party. Sure, A Sunday was a weird time for a slumber party, but since it was the start of break week, she figured it could work. So her morning was spent hanging up handwavy posters advising everyone in the dorms that there would be a party that night, and her afternoon was busy with party prep.

Not that there was a whole lot of setup required. It wasn't a birthday party or anything, so Kathy had skipped out on balloons and streamers and stuff like that. Mostly she just made sure that the common room was clean, that there was a Rock Band and a karaoke setup available, and plenty of places for people to sleep when the 'slumber' part of the slumber party happened. If it happened. She didn't really know what to expect.

Okay, so what made for a good party? Food? She had a bunch of snacks out, lots of different kinds of chips and sweets from JGoB. Also, she'd set up deliveries from Ching Tai and Pizza Planet for later in the evening, so no one would be hungry. Drinks? She had plenty of soda and juice, and both the non-alcoholic punch and the totally-alcoholic Jell-o shots were chilling nicely in the fridge. Music? Right, her iPod was plugged into speakers and shuffling through her Party playlist. What else could a party possibly need?

People. Right. Parties definitely needed people. Well, hopefully they'd show up, either because of the posters or lured in by music and the smell of food. It was the end of summer. What better time for a party could there be?

[OCD up and party open!]

During class on Wednesday, Kathy and Raven had decided to have a Revengers marathon. They probably wouldn't get through all of them, considering there were almost twenty hours of film to get through, but they could at least watch the first three or four (maybe even five?) without going stir-crazy.

With her only class of the day canceled, Kathy came right back to her room, grabbed her laptop to plug into the TV so they could watch the movies on a decent-sized screen, and put in an order for a ridiculous number of pizzas and sodas to be delivered. They'd need to keep their strength up somehow during the marathon, wouldn't they? Superhero movies, pizza, soda, and Raven was bringing the popcorn--what a great way to start the weekend!

Well, graduation was over with, and most of Sparkle's crap was already packed up, and he had Lewis' word that when he got back to Toronto, they'd be just a couple of days away from moving into the new house that Lewis had been saving up for decades for. The only trouble was? Still a group home. And given the assortment of teens that Lewis tended to pick up, allergies were sort of a thing.

He'd begged. He'd pleaded. Hell, he'd threatened to live in the garage or something. No, Lewis wasn't going to budge.

No cats.

So Sparkle was now in the common room with Velcro, frowning at the little guy while he tried to make the best of his last day here, before... something something. Taking him to the shelter, maybe, or seeing how long he could smuggle his shouldercat around in his bookbag before Lewis took notice, or maybe actually running away somewhere after all and starting life over as a hermit in, like, sunny California or hey, the seventies were kind of okay. He could handle running away to the seventies.

But for the time being, he'd settle for making the best of his last day here before his portal would cart him off, by dangling a shoelace at the end of a broom handle for the cat to chase around the room like a complete lunatic.

"That's right, moron. You're a good stupid boy, aren't you?"

[OOC: Open! Probably Sparkle's last post on the island before alumni-land. There's a new owner in mind for the kitty already, no worries.]

Things were finally back to normal. If anyone asked, Ezra was going to very firmly claimed to miss this past week dearly. But in reality, even he liked being in better control of his feelings and his body. It had been a very nice week no doubt about that. But it was also nice to relax.

And what better way to relax than by sprawling on a couch with the TV open on something mindless?

That is, if you could actually see the TV over what was practically a small mountain of various kinds of Valentine's candy that was on the coffee table in front of the couch. Some of it may have been stolen, most had actually been bought by Ezra, and all of it had definitely been on a very deep discount by now. Candy hearts, chocolates, marshmallows in red and pink, everything. Ezra hadn't been able to choose, so he'd taken... just about everything that had seemed like he'd like it.

He'd just traded in sex for overindulging in something else. Oh well.

[ooc: Open! Come have candy for lunch.]

There was a sign that said "NO BOYS ALLOWED" on the entrance, but how harshly that would be enforced would probably be dependent on how tolerant said Boys were of manicures, rom-coms, make-up, hairstyle fun, and jumping into the ball pit.

After a week like the last one, a little girl-bonding seemed needed.

[ooc: open like an open thing, and really, anyone welcome who's in the spirit of the girliness of this post.]

What Gwen was learning was that even if you went back on that "I'm better than my hormones" bit this week, it didn't matter if you thought you fixed everything, it came back. So when marched into the common room ready to be grouchy and hate everything some more... and she walked into a party.

There was food spread out, and music playing, and weirdly the furniture had been moved so that a clear circle could be formed around a bottle laying in the middle of the floor. That was sexily ominous.

[Welcome to Spin the Bottle! It's an open CR, so you can totally come to watch and not play, but if you're playing, here are the rules:
If you're playing, ping into the sign in with the number in which you got there. That'll be your number for matches, which will be listed in a separate thread. If you didn't sign up, you're still totally welcome to play, and anyone who pings in later than 18 will be matched with someone already in the pool, so they might get kissed more than once.
Now play ball! ...um not dirty.]

After her usual run, Hanna headed to the back deck to do her exercises: katas and forms and shadow-sparring. She'd heard there was a gymnasium here that might have more equipment, but she liked being outside whenever she could, and today was no exception.

[ooc: expecting one, but open all the same.]

If you thought Sparkle was going to just let this weather pass him by today, you really had another thing coming. Glitter! There was glitter as far as the eye could see with drifts that came halfway to his knees around some of the corners on the grounds to the dorms. And Sparkle?

Well, Sparkle had an affinity for glitter, okay? He could do so much with this stuff. Stick it in more shower heads, throw it off the roof at people in water balloons, mail it to his enemies...

And that was why he had already stuffed his backpack full of the stuff, and had now started on filling a couple of pillowcases, besides. He was going to be twinkling for like a year, but like that was really anything new, and holy shit, the possibilities were endless, here.

Endless.

[OOC: Open lawn is open! GLITTER.]

Johnny didn't see what the big deal was with today. Oooh, people told the truth. So what? He liked telling the truth! He did it all the time! He was awesome. Reed was a douche. Gwen was cool. Alana was hot. He didn't have many male friends because he never truly felt deep down that he really belonged after spending his entire youth out of place. He had no idea how to commit to anything but superheroing. This pizza was delicious and there was plenty for everyone. This Kate Hudson movie was wonderful, she was such a good actress.

Kate Hudson was where he drew the line. "I really want this channel to change so I can save face if anyone comes in. I DON'T KNOW WHY THE CHANNEL WON'T CHANGE! I'd totally bang Kate Hudson."

Okay, maybe THAT was how he could save face if anyone came in.

[OOC: Open, of course. But I'm driving home now so no responses for the next hour.]

Talking to one of the new kids at the picnic had reminded Vider of what it was like to be new here and not sure where the food came from at a place like this, which had reminded her that it had been a while since she'd provided food for the community rather than swiping whatever was unlabeled in the fridge. So she'd done some shopping, and some cooking, and now a big pot of beef stew was simmering away on the stovetop. There were also two six-packs of honey soda in the fridge; one was blank, but the other had Vider's name clearly written on each bottle. Her generosity only extended so far.

When Gwen got here a semester ago, she quickly found out how weird the place was... and then kept finding out how much weirder the place was than she thought. So she decided to do the new kids a solid, and that was why there was a huge sheet of butcher block paper taped up on the wall between the girls' and boys' bathrooms.

THINGS ALL NEW KIDS SHOULD KNOW

Somewhere under that, she'd written:

Sometimes you turn into a dude if you're a girl, or a girl if you're a dude.
Sometimes people are from space.
Or alternate universes.
The janitor's an actual troll but he'll give you paper for stuff like this if you ask for it.

Get to adding to it, students.

[This was decided on at the last anniversary, ngl. I'm gonna be gone for a chunk of the day, but you can ping Gwen if you're up for SP, or have your own conversations in this post, or just add your own stuff to the wall!]
