The Roof, Friday Late Afternoon Onwards
While Alluka didn't know lots and lots of things, she knew what a tea party meant and, after talks with Ringo and her own experiences at the welcome picnics, she knew that it was important for real parties to have lots of tasty food and fun things to drink. So that was easy enough to figure out! Then she let Ringo handle that.
Which was why there was so much food. Ringo had started by ordering take out "for one" from a bunch of local places, which would probably have been enough on its own. But then she'd found a recipe for fruit punch on the internet, and decided to try that out, and then she'd had a random craving for cherries which had led to a bunch of random fruit. There was even an entire table dedicated to chocolate. You were welcome, Alluka.
Alluka handled the decorations, which meant that come the Friday of the party, ever since just a little past noon, she'd been up on the roof decorating under the critical eye of her bunny and her giraffe (both of whom had differing opinions on everything from glitter placement to balloon placement) but by the time the party was to get started, she'd managed to get it all up, with the tables and chairs and balloons and glitter and banners along the rooftop railing.
Between the two of them, they'd gotten everything set up in time to go and do their hair and change.
Her bunny won the argument between her toys about who got to come with, so her bunny was looking very smart indeed with its ears tied back with a black and white scrunchie.
Alluka smoothed her new dress down and grinned over at Ringo. While Alluka's dress was white (well, okay, with a little bit of black, but they'd both decided that that didn't count) and her hair was up in an elegant twist (Ringo had helped her do it), Ringo's dress was a deep black and her long hair was loose from its usual pigtails to spill down her back.
Now they just had to hope people came.
[Wait for the OCD is up! Come party!]

Re: Arrive/Mingle
"You haven't?!" she asked, surprised.

Re: Arrive/Mingle
"But you're way more important than Christmas, Kathy. You should definitely get a party."
Re: Arrive/Mingle
Re: Arrive/Mingle
And maybe Ringo would help her give Kathy a birthday party...
"When is your birthday?" she asked curiously.
Re: Arrive/Mingle
Re: Arrive/Mingle
"Mine?" She looked at her bunny, who looked back at her. "I don't know."
Re: Arrive/Mingle
Raven now knowing her own birthday, Kathy could understand. After all, she'd been abandoned as a child and had grown up, alone, on the streets. But Alluka'd had a family. Hadn't they ever acknowledged her birthday? Kathy's parents hadn't ever thrown her a party or anything, but they'd at least made her noodle soup and rice cakes and given her presents, and...
Re: Arrive/Mingle
Alluka frowned at her bunny, thinking hard. Her bunny tilted it's head to the side as it thought too, since that made Alluka feel better.
"I don't remember," she said doubtfully.
Her parents had totally thrown her birthday parties in the first few years but: she'd been too small to remember them and after getting locked in her room they hadn't happened.

"Do I, do I have to pick right now?" Alluka looked overwhelmed at the idea.

Re: Arrive/Mingle
"Uhh, maybe?" she hedged. "She could probably just share yours, but if you'd prefer to have one of your very own, we could probably pick a different one for her?"
Re: Arrive/Mingle
That seemed more fair, really.
Re: Arrive/Mingle
That was a Kath fact!
Re: Arrive/Mingle
"I'll remember," she said, and beamed at Kathy. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Re: Arrive/Mingle
"You're welcome, Alluka," Kathy said, smiling warmly. "You know you're always very welcome."
Re: Arrive/Mingle
"I know," Alluka said, smiling at her toes. "It's just strange that's all. But nice."
