4th Floor Common Room, Saturday Morning

Breq had heard the voices of children this morning. It definitely wasn't the strangest thing she had experienced here, and as she was anyway spending the morning in the common room watching music videos on the TV, she decided to put some extra breakfast food on the table. If any children should show up they could help themselves. For herself, Breq made tea, and then made herself comfortable on the couch.

Music videos were an interesting combination of songs and entertainments. They were easy to watch, and a perfect combination with breakfast. Hopefully the sound wouldn't wake up any students who were trying to sleep in.

"I had problems moving and talking," Breq said, which should make it clear that no, she hadn't been fine. Then she recalled that this was Sidon.

"I wasn't happy about it."

Sidon winced, and, if he wasn't already red, he might have turned a bit more that color. Still, he offered a faint, hopefully encouraging smile. "Then it is a very good thing that the change was temporary and we no longer must deal with those strange transformations. I'm sorry to hear that you did not have a pleasant time with it, though, Breq."

"Did you capture anyone, though?" Breq asked, curious as it didn't sound like something Sidon would do when his usual self.

"I did not," Sidon admitted, and smiled faintly. "I mostly just got yelled at for dripping water on the carpet. It's probably better that way; I honestly don't know what I'd have done with my captive if I'd managed to snag her, anyway!"

But he did know it was likely not going to be a tea party.

"Yes, it probably is," Breq agreed. "Here, let me pour you some tea."

Not that this was a tea party either. Breq reached for the teapot.

"Oh, yes!" Sidon said happily. "Thank you! I must say, it is rather nice to see you and speak with you outside of class, Breq. Our class discussions can get so heavy, so it is lovely to be able to speak of much lighter things and enjoy ourselves in a much more casual setting, wouldn't you agree?"

"Yes, I agree." She did, and she even added a smile at Sidon. "But I do enjoy our conversations in class, even if they tend to be serious."

She poured him some tea.

"As a lighter topic though, what do you enjoy? I hope the responsibility and concern for your people take up all your energy."

She suspected Sidon did have other interests, or, mor likely perhaps, that most things interested him in some way.

"Thank you," Sidon bowed his head in gratitude as she poured the tea. "And I enjoy a great many things. Swimming, of course, is my favorite leisurely activity, as well as battling octoroks and diving off cliffs into the great blue ocean! I like learning Zora history and playing with all the little hatchlings, spearing exceptionally large fish and training with my soldiers."

He paused a moment to chuckle. "But this will start making me terribly homesick! It is your turn, Breq. What do you enjoy?"

"I like music," she said. "I've traveled a lot and I've collected songs from many places in my universe."
