Second floor common room, Friday evening

There were a lot of things Lana should be looking up and learning about - this "prom" thing, some of the local sites that might be interesting, even Jedi diplomacy back home (she was really wondering after class today). Instead, she had ordered Chinese food (and naturally gotten enough for at least eight people) and settled in in front of the TV.

All it wanted to show, for some reason, were local food shows. Especially one about a man who went to different celebrations everywhere and ate very odd foods. It was oddly fascinating.

Hey, even a Sith needed a vegging evening sometimes.

[Open common room! Come eat the food!]

"I did, actually," Astrid admitted, smiling easily over it and dishing out some fried rice for herself, some vegetables. "I mean, I got to actually be a Viking. It was almost like getting in touch with my ancestors, though so much more personal."

There was a slight pause.

"Except maybe the dragon part. I'm not sure my ancestors actually fought real dragons."

Because her world was incredibly boring and unmagical and she was actually okay with that, too.

"I think," Astrid said thoughtfully, going to sit on the couch with her food, "if it happened when I first got here? Definitely. Suddenly just being someone else? That could probably really mess with your head if you're not used to it or expecting it..."

How far she'd come from that wide-eyed girl a year ago who was convinced she'd gone crazy and refused to believe any of it...

...and how she might actually kind of miss some of the crazy, too.

"Paris?" Astrid's brows lifted a little in interest. "What was she like? I mostly stayed to myself, training all weekend. I was pretty sore on Tuesday...but I'm pretty sure it was Sabine who was this person named Angela who tried to convince me I was dead."

It...did not work.

"A prince?" Astrid took a moment to try and imagine it. "Prince Paris. That would have been something to see, but, yeah, that makes sense that it would be her. I was still an Astrid, too, even if Sabine was an Angela. Who, yeah, tried to convince me that I'd died fighting my enemies and was now in what she called 'the Good Place,' which I guess is like heaven. Except that she also told me there were no weapons or enemies in the Good Place, so the Other Astrid wasn't about to believe anywhere called 'the Good Place' wouldn't involve weapons and enemies."

"She was," Astrid agreed. "Definitely not one I would mind having to experience again, which isn't something I'd expect to say about these sorts of things."

Not that she imagined she ever would experience something like that again, with going back home. And now that she thought about it that way, she realized that was a pretty good one to be her last one.

And then immediately reprimanded herself because there were still three weeks left. A lot could happen in three weeks, Astrid.

"Yeah," Astrid nodded, mulling it over with a bite and a slightly furrowed brow. "Which upsets the pattern, if there is one, with names. But if I was an Astrid, and Paris was a Paris...then Sabine's doesn't make any sense, and we don't even have an Angela. Unless Sabine isn't her real name and she's been a secret Angela this whole time."

Astrid would be hard-pressed to believe it. Sabine didn't seem like an Angela, not even a little bit, but maybe that was just because Sabine was just so...Sabine to her now.
