Sixth floor common room- Sunday evening

The way Alexis was thinking, they'd have a raging party tonight, wake up tomorrow with mild hangovers, and then spend the rest of the day at the beach, because wasn't that what Memorial Day was all about?

She did not know she was expected to be in class tomorrow.

The lights were lower, there was a dance floor, the music was actually probably a little loud, and there were tables set up with all sorts of beverages. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. She also was maybe iffy on exactly what Memorial Day was commemorating, because aside from the distinct red, white and blue theme, it was very much a celebration of something or other.

Show up! Show off! Or hang in a corner and wait for Alexis to come talk to you because you're not getting away with not talking to anybody.

The snacks are moddable, and so are the drinks. Are there maybe little bottles of alcohol that just so happened to show up placed in a bowl so people can mix their own drinks and Alexis can't get into trouble? Naturally.

You know you want to.

If you're into that sort of thing.

No world ending. Aside from what's already going on.

Astrid had clearly just twisted Alexis' arm about this whole thing, so it would be sort of a jerk move to not even show up. If this was Fairview, that's probably exactly what would happen, but she actually did like Fandom parties...and Fandom people. So she was there, looking around like she was planning to critically access the job Alexis did, although, really, she could have just shown up and said the word 'party' and that would suffice.

"Astrid! You made it!" Alexis greeted her happily. "I think I did a pretty good job for a day's work, don't you think?"

Oh, if there was a party, you better believe Wayne had shown up to contribute a few cases of Puppers beers and a bottle or two of Gus'n'Bru whiskey.

It was tradition. And you don't fuck with tradition!

Freya had seen the posters about this Memorial Day party and showed up expecting something far more somber based on the name. Perhaps ot was in memorial of a happy event? Either way, she supposed she would 't find out unless she showed up, and she supposed it might not hurt to socialize with her peers more, considering it.was looking as though she would not be making headway on locating her dear Sir Fratley any time soon.

Her eyes, she had to ad.it, did keep drifting curiously to the ba pit, though.

"I wasn't sure you'd still be around!" Alexis greeted her. "Welcome to the party!"

"You did a great job," Astrid agreed with a small smile. "It makes me wonder what you can do when given a week's notice, or something."

She didn't mean to party-bait Alexis, honestly, but, at the same time, she also didnt think Alexis would mind, either.

"Is there a reason I wouldn't be?" asked Freya, with a curious tilt of her head, an apprehensive swish of her tail.

She'd thought about it, a few time, and would have tried harder if she wasn't finding some of the classes useful or interesting....and if the people at Portalocity hadn't seemed wholly confused and kept sending her off to a different planet called Gaia...

"I'm sure we'll find out," Alexis said. "We're only just starting summer."

"Weren't you like, looking for someone?" Alexis asked.

"Yes," Freya allowed. "Sir Fratley. Of Burmecia. I don't suppose you've heard news yet? I am still searching, but I've yet to turn up trace of him. I feel that perhaps there is still a reason I am here, though, that perhaps this is merely a step on a much longer journey. He always did tell me there is great value and knowledge in patience."

Alexis' enthusiasm was a little bit catching. "I can't wait to see what else you've got in store for us," she said, and she meant it, too. "But if you're hard up for ideas, I threw a tarot party up here once, I wouldn't mind doing something like that again, though it feels a little more like a fall thing, I think."

Julius ~~who has kind of failed to be around this week because THIS WEEK~~ had seen the fliers around and figured that...maybe? A party in the dorms might be a lot more fun than any of the parties he'd been to before?

He ducked in, wearing his one nice shirt and looked around like he wasn't quite sure what to do next.

"Oh my god, seriously? My psychic had one of those once, but like, maybe setting it in a haunted house was a bad idea?" Alexis said. "I bet there's no end to the creativity here."

"I haven't, but if I do you'll be the first person I call." That should probably go without saying, but this was Alexis, so. "Are you at least having fun while you're here?"

"Julius!" Alexis greeted him, grinning. "I am so glad you made it!"

"It was a lot of fun," Astrid admitted, looking faintly wistful, "and people seemed to really take to it, too."

Except maybe the one guy who got nothing but ALL the doom and gloom for his...

She tilted her head thoughtfully at Alexis. "Would you be interested in another reading? Maybe this time with less haunted houses?"

She didn't believe in any of it, herself, and she didn't know Alecis Well yet, but you could also learn a lot about a person just by how they reacted to the cards, and she had a feeling Alexis would be an interesting one, to say the least.

"Hi Alexis!" Julius said, looking around. "Just decided to throw a party? Or is it, like, your birthday or something." He suddenly looked abashed. "I, uh, didn't bring a gift if it is. I'm sorry!"

Juillenne had no idea what ‘Memorial Day’ was supposed to commemorate, though the name didn’t make it sound like the sort of thing that involved parties...

Then again, she came from a world that held a party in order to kick off a year of three teenage girls trying their best to murder each other, so who was she to judge?

So here she and Camden were!

"Yes! I love that journey for me," said Alexis, who totally believed all this stuff, and who at some point in the future would have a ghost.

"You are too sweet," she told him. "No, this is for Memorial Day! It's the official start of summer, so we're having an illicit dorm party to celebrate."

This wasn't really illicit, but okay.
