Second floor common room- Wednesday evening

This had been the strangest day Harry had had since he was here, and he'd gone to the common room to decompress. Maybe watch something. Maybe talk to people.

And what happened was he decided he was gonna get on a broom and play Quidditch in the common room sooooooo there was that.

Belle thought the Quidditch playing was just charming, and smiled at Harry as she entered.

"You fly!"

"I do!" Harry said, grinning. "Not usually in here!"

"I was coming in here to read," Clare said, pointing vehemently at her book. "This whale seems like a bad sort, Harry! Why are you flying inside?!"

[imawizard]

"I don't know," Harry brooded. "Sorry if it bothers you."

Belle, much younger than usual, smiled again. "I never met anyone who could fly before," she confessed shyly.

"I wouldn't say bothers, as such," Clare said, biting her lip nervously, "but it doesn't seem terribly safe!"

The activity at the park had been odd, it was true, but not as odd as her roommate flying around the common room on a broom.

Sakaki felt heat rushing to her cheeks as she peeked into the room to watch.

"Ribbons," she murmured. "So cute..."

What ribbons was she even talking about? Who knew. But they were cute, apparently!

"Maybe you have and you just don't know it," Harry said excitedly.

[imawizard]

"It's perfectly safe," Harry scoffed. "I've had classes."

[imawizard]

Harry was suddenly hard at work writing something. With a quill. Totally normal here.

Belle was back to her usual size and smiled at Harry again.

"Ooh, maybe!" That was a good thought, Harry!

"I mean, I could be wrong," he added.

Belle turned away then, much more interested in the book that had suddenly appeared in her hand than in her classmate who could fly.

This was why people wrote songs, Belle.

"What've you got there?" Harry asked, concerned.

Whatever Harry was working on, he could do so in....relative peace, because a cat had shown up in the common room, too.

And where there was a cat, there was a Sakaki trying to pet it.

And when Sakaki tried to pet it, it inevitably bit her hand.

And decided not to let go.

"That cat is biting you," Harry said, eyes wide.

Maybe she didn't notice?

"Ale," Belle said, draining the mug that had replaced the book in her hands.

"Would you like some?" Too bad if you did, she only had the one mug.

Finally shaking the cat off, Sakaki then ran the hand that it had bitten (thankfully not biting this time), through her hair with a deep sigh.

"They tend to do that," she said sadly.

With that, Harry pulled out his wand and said, "Lumos," and the end began to flow like a flashlight.

Why? Who knew.

Well, his reaction was to kiss her, so maybe he was really grateful for the offer?

"Oh, that's enough of that," Belle said, side-eyeing Harry for the attempt.

The boys at this school! Ugh!

Sakaki, meanwhile, sat down at the table, resting her chin in her hand, to.watch him.

She looked mildly unimpressed.

Probably because it was a neat trick, but kind of superfluous, really.

"You had classes on flying," the girl who learned basket weaving from a giant fish said dubiously.

"Hello!" Clare said with a smile.

"What are you even talking about?" Clare asked.
