Outside the dorms- fire drill o'clock Thursday morning

You know, it'd been a while since the students had been roused from their beds to go stand outside in the middle of the night while the building around them screamed at them. Tonight was a good night to fix that.

So at exactly 3:00 am, the fire alarms in the dorms began going off, leaving you all to do just that.

You're safe now. You're welcome.

It had taken Alara several moments to wake up when the alarms started blaring, being unfamiliar with fire alarms as they didn’t have them on Xelaya and eventually dragged herself out of bed and to the front lawns, wearing her egg themed
pyjamas from the other week as she had decided that she had quite liked them.

“Do they always make so much noise?” she wondered out loud, to no one in particular as she waited.

"Yes," Five ground out like he was thinking about stabbing the alarms now. "Sometimes they're louder."

Awww, he was fondly remembering the training with his siblings.

“Oh,” Alara blinked, wincing at the blaring, she couldn’t imagine they could be louder, just wait a few more years Alara when you joined the military, “it seems rather unnecessary,”

You know what they didn't do at Harry's last school?

These.

So here he was, in at-shirt and plaid pajama pants, standing around and waiting for someone to make it stop. At least he'd put on shoes?

"Why is it so loud?" Clare yelled. Loudly. To be heard over the alarm.

"Because it's really important that we not hear anything else for the rest of the day, apparently," Harry said, which was the only answer he could come up with.

"I'm going to murder someone," Five declared in his old man pajamas.

"I suppose you think that will help?" Belle was rolling her eyes a lot in your direction, Five.

"It would certainly improve my mood." Shocking no one.

At least Alexis looked cute while yelling, "This is against the Geneva convention!" outdoors at 3 am.

Her hair looked fab still, don't worry.

Belle had kept her pajamas from last weekend. They were cute! So she was owl and book-clad as she made her way outside, a bit bewildered at what was actually happening here.

"It's the middle of the night," she protested to nobody in particular.

"Has this happened before?" Harry wondered, wandering over, feeling like she would know maybe.

"Not that I've experienced," Belle said, glaring a bit at the dorms. What a betrayal!

"Oh, imagine if it had done this in the winter when I first arrived!"

"Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy," Tahani wailed from her spot on the ground where she'd brought a pillow to lounge on and not ruin her adorable pajamas.

The island’s tiny fire engine came roaring up, and Travis hopped out, followed by a vested and very excited pit bull puppy.

“Hey kids. What’s the situation?”

"An alarm is going off," Alexis said helpfully. "Do you really need a siren? This island is like two feet wide."

Oh good. It was little miss “I won’t help if it messes up my hair.”

“Yes,” Travis said. “Yes, I do.” He tilted his head to look at the dorms. “Anyone smell any smoke? Any indication what floor a fire might be on?”

As Astrid moved back away from both the buildings and the gathering crowd, she couldn't help wondering if she, in all her paleness, with her blonde hair and long white nightgown, resembled a ghost trying to slip away unobserved into the night.

She definitely hoped this was just a drill. She didn't even want to think about the years of artwork stuffed into her room that would do an awful lot to fuel the flames of any fire that might have sparked up.

She was overdue for a tragedy, though, really...

Clare was in her adorable unicorn onesie, but she wasn't keen on letting everyone see it!

"What is this?" she asked, rubbing her eyes. "Are we being invaded?"

"If only." Five, no.

Clare blinked. "You'd rather be invaded?"

At least Sakaki was familiar with fire drills at school, but while she was sleeping was a little new and a bit disorienting, and she looked a bit worried that it might not be a drill at all, and should they be doing something to help? Did they just have to wait it out? Was everyone okay?

And her pajamas were fairly plain, just a t-shirt and striped pants, because while she might want to wear something much cuter, she knew she would look absolutely ridiculous in anything like that.

...probably a little like sje did now, actually, with her arms filled with as many of her stuffed animal friends as she could manage to collect before leaving.

Troy knew he didn't do anything, but he still couldn't help looking a little guilty as if he had, as if at any moment, he expected someone would think he did something...

...but he was really hoping it was just a drill, because with all those blankets, his room was just going to be a field day for fires and also he wouldn't be sire if he should do something in the event of a fire, because, sure, he's talked about doing the firefighter thing in the hole, but it wasn't like he'd even followed through a little on it yet!

"This is stupid," Alexis announced.

"You know what?" Troy responded, by way absolute agreement. "I don't even think there's a fire, even!"

Already, clearly showing some time firefighter potential here.
