Third Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning

Belle was turning 16 today again!

"The party isn't until later, of course," she said to a camera that absolutely wasn't actually there but that she could see all the same. "There's plenty of time before then so I'm getting some breakfast. I wanted to have a breakfast to start off the day but Papa refused so I suppose I have to fend for myself in here. Like a peasant."

She filled up a bowl while she continued talking. "I suppose that left more to spend on the rest of the party, which is obviously literary in theme and it's going to be amazing. Just wait until everyone sees my dress! You can actually read the lines of the book if you look closely enough! And I'm sure Papa has gifts planned. He wouldn't let an occasion like this pass by without something special. I just hope he remembered not to invite Gaston. That would ruin the whole day. Gaston and Five, of course."


[Open common room is open if anyone wants to talk to their own imaginary cameras about their own imaginary birthdays and their own imaginary celebrations!]

"Oh, that's unfair," Belle said under her breath, gesturing to the camera that wasn't there to focus on Jo. "I don't have any jewels even close to that. Of course, were my mother alive I'm certain she would have made sure I had something suitable and Papa could hardly be expected to know but if she shows up with those to my party I don't know what I'll do!"

Jo finished her extensive list in time to catch the last part, “I’m sorry did you say, your party?” surely it would be another night, she had so many plans for that evening.

"My birthday party," Belle said, narrowing her eyes. "Tonight. Didn't you know? I'm certain I told everyone!"

“It can’t possibly be tonight!” Jo gasped, “my feast and party is going to be tonight!”

"Yours can't be tonight! I have everything planned and there are apparently several other parties tonight and this is a disaster!"

“Oh my gosh!” Jo exclaimed, this was her 14th birthday all over again - just hopefully without being expelled this time, “it’s my 16th today!” she wailed wailed. No it wasn’t Jo. “The events have to be tonight! We won’t be able to reschedule!”

"No, it's my 16th," Belle corrected her. "I've been planning this for ages! It can't be everyone else's tonight as well. This isn't fair!"
