In case you hadn't heard, either via the flyers that had been plastered around the dorms, the text messages sent out that morning, the radio or the announcements being made from the desk yesterday, there was a party in the dorms that day! Down by the pool, specifically! With no classes to attend to, all that was left to do was come on down and have a good time!

There were decorations! There was pizza! There were drinks in coconuts, and some music pumping, and none of them had anywhere school-related they needed to be! Time to celebrate another successful semester in the books.

Kurt had been doing a good bit of thinking during his off time from classes that week, so there was a lot on his mind as he made his way into the kitchen area of the common room early that morning.

Back home, he had always talked with his parents while cooking whatever big meal they were having for the day. And while his folks obviously were not here, he was still doing a lot of thinking as he started on a nice big breakfast. Might as well keep up some semblance of tradition right?

And so, if anyone was awake, they were likely soon to be greeted with the fragrant aromas of a big breakfast, because if he was going to be making breakfast, Kurt figured he might as well go all out and make enough for whoever wanted to stop in for a some food options that were a bit better than sugary cereal or poptarts.

Kurt got to work on the spread and soon there was plenty of bacon, hash browns, eggs, and toast for whoever wanted some.

Jo had received another care package from home and as usual she decided to go the common room and leave the several boxes of expensive chocolates that her parents had sent over out in case anyone else would like some.

This time she had a couple of books that she had checked out from the library with her and she decided for a change that she’d try reading in the common room. The books that she had checked out were some of the ones that she’d tried to put away yesterday and she had ended up being intrigued by the premise so decided to see what they were like.

Instead of getting a hot cocoa from the Perk, she decided to see if there was any in the common room and so for something a bit different she ended up making her own. She found a spot to settle on one of the couches and putting down her mug on the table, she picked up her book to start reading.

Jo wasn’t feeling as bad as she had on Monday and talking to Mr. Sims had helped, she still wasn’t used to the idea that she could actually talk to a teacher about her problems and they would listen to her.

Now that she was finished with classes for the week and she’d already been to the Perk and then had also ordered it through DoorDash in class yesterday she decided to order Chinese, which she hadn’t done for a while and as usual there was a lot more food so she decided to have it in the common room and see if anyone else wanted some and after a bit she turned on the TV to see if there was something interesting on.

Jo had received another massive care package from home and it had once again contained more sweets and chocolates. After classes had finished she decided to stop by the different common rooms and drop off boxes in the fridge and cupboards because even though she knew her dad meant well, she didn’t really need all those boxes and was more than happy to share them around.

Classes were finished for the week, so Jo had once again found herself deciding to order some take out and this week had settled on Chinese.

Was this going to be a regular thing? She hadn’t decided but for now she was curious about trying out different local foods and once again she wound up with way more dishes than she had ordered so this week the 3rd floor common room had several Chinese dishes.

She also had more packages of sweets from home, so those were being put out as well if anyone wanted some. She would probably drop some off in other common rooms later since she’d had quite a few arrive.

Belle was turning 16 today ~~again~~!

"The party isn't until later, of course," she said to a camera that absolutely wasn't actually there but that she could see all the same. "There's plenty of time before then so I'm getting some breakfast. I wanted to have a breakfast to start off the day but Papa refused so I suppose I have to fend for myself in here. Like a peasant."

She filled up a bowl while she continued talking. "I suppose that left more to spend on the rest of the party, which is obviously literary in theme and it's going to be amazing. Just wait until everyone sees my dress! You can actually read the lines of the book if you look closely enough! And I'm sure Papa has gifts planned. He wouldn't let an occasion like this pass by without something special. I just hope he remembered not to invite Gaston. That would ruin the whole day. Gaston and Five, of course."

[Open common room is open if anyone wants to talk to their own imaginary cameras about their own imaginary birthdays and their own imaginary celebrations!]

Jo was not aware of anything really unusual happening at Fandom, sure some things were a bit weird but everything was weird to her so she hadn’t really paid much attention to what was going on.

Classes were over for the week for her and she decided to try some takeout. She decided on Thai and was surprised when instead of one dish she ended up with way more than what she had ordered.

So Jo was now in the common room and had set up the left over food in case anyone wanted some, there was no way she was going to eat all of it herself and while she was here she put out a couple of boxes of chocolates and sweets that she had already received from home. She found herself distracted by the TV since she was amazed at how big it was compared to the tiny tv that her family had (and that tv was considered state of the art in 1952)
