Second Floor Common Room; Late Tuesday Morning [08/30].
Yesterday had been a lot for Libby, but it had also reminded her that she had a lot of friends and a lot of support here, and, even with all the things she struggled to push past all spelled out as clear as day for nearly everyone to see, they were still there for her. And she was there for them, too, because even though yesterday reminded Libby that she'd been through a lot, it also reminded her that, well....so had most people, here. They'd all had their baggage, but it didn't matter, because they also had each other, and that was...incredibly, necessarily heartening.
And it was her conversation with Charlie in particular that had her swinging by the store after her morning class, with the whole rest of her day free and clear, and set to work at putting together some breakfast. Or probably brunch, at this point, but she liked cooking, and she especially liked cooking for other people, and she really hadn't done it nearly enough lately, and clearly set out to do just that.
So it wouldn't be long at all before the telltale aromas of a good old breakfast casserole started to fill the room, while Libby took to making some fresh squeezed orange juice to go with it while it was baking and, even though she didn't drink it herself, she got some coffee going in the coffee maker, too.
And it just felt nice. It felt good. And she certainly felt a lot lighter than she had yesterday, and she was determined to keep it that way.

"So," she said, "how're your classes so far? Did you have any yesterday?"
no subject
Kurt shook his head- he would NOT let the moody angst of yesterday ruin getting to talk with Libby!
"But I'm excited to see how the rest of the week goes! I've got several classes but they all seem really good and interesting. And I'll still have time for our DnD sessions and of course time to hang out with you."
Kurt realized he was doing it again and quickly added, "and Guillermo, and Graham, and everyone else too."
no subject
"What else do you have, though?" she asked, poking her fork around to spear up some of the best looking bits of eggs and sausage. "Maybe we'll have more classes together."
no subject
He laughed and then thought for a moment as he went over the schedule he was still trying to memorize.
Monday is the fight class, Tuesday the library class of course, Wednesday is heroism class and Dr. Lecter's class, Thursday I have paleontology, and Friday is the class you recommended I sign up for" he finished with a grin.

Well, now she had even more reason to look forward to that class, and she grinned because there was another one, too. "I'm also taking Dr. Lecter's class. His last one was so..." Her head shook as she struggled to know just what word to use, "...amazing, how could I not? I feel like it's the kind of class that's made for people who aren't... 'from around here,' if you know what I mean, but even though I'm born and raised on this planet, I still have a lot of catching up to do there!"

He gave a small grin going over that scheduled again in his head.
"Maybe we could find time, now and then at least, to hang out some. Other than the clinic lunches. Not.... not that I don't like them or enjoy visiting you at the clinic' Kurt said quickly, already feeling like he was messing this all up. "But I... I was thinking we could have lunch somewhere else, someplace without nosey nurses and classmates bothering us...."
And Kurt trailed off, suddenly finding the food on his plate quite interesting and distracting as he found he couldn't look at Libby just then.
no subject
"Or interrupted because someone sprained an ankle tripping over the cobblestones or got a little overzealous with a kitchen knife..."
Not that either of those things had happened yet, but they might! They could! At nearly any moment!
"But that...sounds nice..."
There was a small, awkward, hesitant pause before she added, softly (maybe too softly, she wasn't even sure she could hear it herself, over the thumping of her heart right then), "You know...you never did end up taking me up to the lighthouse..."
And maybe it was sort of a silly thing to remember. That had been so long ago, when they talked about it, about whether or not he could port up there, almost back to when they'd first met, which seemed like practically forever. But she did think about that, every once in a while, and, well, now seemed as good a time as ever to bring it back up again, though now she could only wonder if he'd even remember something like that...

"Oh that's right! We never did get out there did we?" He laughed and gave Libby a small wink. "I still owe you a trip to the top."
Kurt snapped his fingers, quite the feat with only three of them, and nodded.
"I think that is the perfect place. Maybe... this weekend? Or sometime next week, after all the hustle and bustle of the first week of classes and all calms down some? Would give us... some time to plan. We... we could make a whole afternoon of it or something."

"It'll be nice to not have to worry about anyone or anything interrupting" Kurt grinned. "We can... nail down a time closer to the weekend. Not like we won't be seeing each other around right?"
no subject
And Libby's father would never approve.
"We'll maybe see how we feel," Libby offered, "on Friday,in Ms. Beniko's class."

And of course... no dating here. Good lord Logan and Scott would have a field day if that were the case.
Kurt gave Libby a smile and put his attention back to finishing up the delicious casserole, though that grin stayed on his face for quite a while.
