Angelus held still for a moment as though not daring to move. Then with a sudden rush he wrapped his arms around Buffy Faith her and kissed her back passionately. The music his pants his heart swelled to be so close to his one true love, and to be allowed to touch her.

Faith reacted to the kiss, kissing him harder for a moment and then, suddenly, pulling away.
"No..no, we can't do this," she said, almost in tears. "It's wrong."

"You're right," he said, manfully pulling away. "You need a normal life. Without me. With someone who can love you, and give you children, and take you out into the sunlight."

Faith shed a single emo tear. "But I don't want that. I love you."

"You know we can't," he whispered. "The curse."

"I know," she said sadly. "But there has to be a way around it. There has to be!"

"We can't risk it," he said, his voice stronger now. "You're too important."

"I don't care," she said, shaking her head. "You're too important to me. I can't just give up on you like this!"

"Can - can we not do this?" Angelus asked. "After everything we've been through tonight now is when you want to have this argument?"

Faith glared at him. "There's always something going on. There's zombies now, sure, but there's always something- the world's being sucked into hell, there's a violent demon eating babies. When do we ever have a completley calm time, Angel? Tell me that!"

"I don't know!" Angelus snapped. "But whatever it is, whenever it is, it should be yours! You deserve better than this, Buffy. No zombies, no vampires - a normal life."

"I'm a Slayer, Angel. We don't get normal lives. We get weird short ones," Faith said angrily. "Why shouldn't I be able to make the most of the time I have? Why shouldn't I be able to spend my life with the man I love?"

"It's not about love," Angelus said. "It's about doing right by you. It's about giving you what you need. Buffy, I'm a demon. You deserve better than me. You deserve someone who can love you. Someone who can be with you. Not like I can. Not with the danger that whenever I'm near you... I might not be able to stop myself."

"You're more than a demon, Angel," Faith said. "You have a soul, you're a good person. I trust you, you should trust yourself. I know you can do the right thing, Angel, I know it." Faith started to cry.
