Angela wrinkles her forehead. "I'm not completely sure about that myself. I know it's a party attached to a big high school football game, but I don't know what makes one game homecoming and another ... not."

"Calvinball?" Angela frowns, trying to remember where she's seen the name. Her eyes light up when she gets it. "You mean like in that cartoon with the kid and the tiger? Make it up as you go along? That Calvinball?"

"It's from a cartoon?" River seems astonished. "But... we used to play it all the time on Serenity! What's football like, then?"

Angela smiles. "Yeah, it was a comic strip back in ... the 1980s and 1990s, I guess? My sister and my dad totally loved it."

She concentrates trying to figure out how to explain football, then gives up. "Football is a lot more rules-y. Like, two teams are both trying to get the ball through a goal, and you get different numbers of points depending on how you get it through the goal, and you're allowed to tackle each other." She sighs. "I never liked it, so I'm kind of glad this school doesn't have a team."

Angela smiles at River. "I think a lot of people haven't even started thinking about homecoming," she says. "it's been a crazy week for everyone."

She downs the last of her drink and looks down at the drying zombie goo on her shirt. "I'm going to go try and grab a shower before I pass out. Let me know when you reschedule the '80's movies night, 'cause I'd love to come."
