Sipping at her second drink, -- these things were good! -- Sakura turned to look at him.

"Yeah, I'm kind of surprised, too. I enrolled here thinking it'd be a normal school -- pshh, I was wrong." She snickered. "So far I've been lucky enough to have more dealings with wierd students and rabid books--" she nudged him with her elbow "--than any teachers. Although Jareth is still pretty strange." She then laughed at him for calling the librarian a sword-swinging loony. "Edward, are you drunk?" she asked, grinning and trying not to crack up.

"Pssh, normal school. I haven' been in a normal school in... a lon' time." Edward waved his automail hand. "I knew this place was bizarre if Mustang was sending me here, but I 'ad no idea the place was this flippin' insane." He shrugged.

Then he looked slightly offended. "Me, drunk? Not yet, I'm not! But I'm well on my way!"

Sakura snickered and tapped the bottom of her bottle against his metal hand, as if in a toast. "And insane is putting it mildly. I've dealt with some unusual things, but I've never had to aid in a fight against zombies. Much less on school grounds."

She raised her eyebrows, still grinning. "Oh? You're losing consonants."

"You're hallucinatin'" Ed grinned. "'m not losin' consonants." He yawned a little, then scowled. "'m not tired, either."

Edward sank a little further into the couch. "'S been quite th' weekend. At least we got t'morrow off too."

Sakura smiled and polished off her second drink. Glancing at the back of the couch, she promptly yanked a blanket that was laying there off it and tossed it over him.

"Go to sleep," she leaned away a little, leaning back on the arm of the couch. "You've done more zombie-killing than I have, you should be tired." She grinned somewhat cattishly at him. "And I'm not hallucinating, either." she added, fixing him with a marginally pouty glare. She set her empty bottle just beside the arm of the couch on the floor so it was out of the way of people's feet.

"Mm." Edward leaned back into the other armrest, scooting around to get comfortable. "'ll have you know, 'm not drunk. 'm tipsy." He grins a bit, but it's wobbly.

Sakura raised her eyebrows, mouth forming a little 'o' shape. "I see," she said, still grinning at him. "I'll remember that." She poked his foot with her own, pointedly. "Now sleep, you. I'd send you back to your dorm, but I don't trust you to get there without falling." She was clearly enjoying teasing him far too much.

"'m not tired," Edward complained at her. He made a face >.< face at her. "You're not my mom, you ..." he trailed off, and frowned. Then he shook his head once. "...nev'rmind."

Sakura just closed her eyes, nodding. The grin never left her face. "Whatever you say, Ed." Her face sobered a bit when he complained about her not being his mother, but she still smiled. If nothing else, she shared the common ground of being mother-less at a young age with Edward. Not that they knew that about one another. "I still say you should sleep." And she left it at that.

Edward sulked at her for a moment, before yawning. "Fine," he muttered sleepily, turning himself over so that he faced in to the couch. "Y'win. G'night."

Sakura squared her shoulders, smug. "'Night," she echoed, and rested her arms over her knees, head resting against them and just sort of watching him for a moment. Catching herself with an oddly fond smile on her face, she meeped and turned away, focusing instead on a fallen empty bag of chips near a trashcan across the room. Why was she suddenly getting maternal tendencies over this guy? She only met him, what, two days before? She scowled at herself, making a >:\ face.
