A table full of food (including some suspicious looking cupcakes) and drinks sit in the lobby. A bunch of name tags sit next to the food so that everyone can write their name down.

Rory curiously looked over her shoulder upon hearing a familiar and unexpected voice. Her eyes lit up when she saw that it was, in fact, who she had thought she'd heard. She beamed and turned to actually face Anakin.

"Hi!" she said happily. "I didn't know you were back yet!"

Rory inexplicably begins to deeply dislike Lee for no real reason.

And to think, Rory struggled for so long with coming up with something silly enough. She very nearly said that Lee is a ballerina in his spare time, but she then realized that this is actually very likely to be the truth.

Lee does have uncanny grace which is why he will be the BEST PILOT IN THE FLEET, damnit. But Lee does laud Rory's creative prowess. Yes. *applause*

Yes, Rory thinks that Lee's rumors are very CREATIVE, too. Seeing as how they have no base in fact whatsoever and all.

Rory would flail lots if she knew this, especially as she and Anakin haven't 'done it' yet.

Lee bets Anakin is far better in bed than Logan is. Probably due to the whole Inertia thing.

Rory would never listen to such speculation. Whether that is because she and Anakin are OMGJUSTFRIENDS, or because Logan will be a very tough act to follow...that's up for debate.

"It was that bad?" Rory winced.

Anakin shrugged. "Monotonous, mostly. Obi-Wan has interesting," he grimaced, "ideas of what would be fitting punishments."

He ran a hand through his hair. "Mostly filing, meditating and being bored at receptions."

He grinned at Rory. "Did I miss anything here?"

Rory shot him a sympathetic look. "At least it was just boring, and nothing too horrific outside of that. And um, anything here?"

She blushed. "Um. Well, nothing too exciting happened on a big scale, really. We hijacked the radio at ome point. Went on a squid hunt and ended up in the pool - which, by the way, I think we're all free to use at this point, since there's no squid. Got in trouble with the principal for playing truth or dare."

Her blush deepened. "And then there's the fun news about what happened to me personally, but you probably don't want to hear about that."

"Well, there was a Gamorrean Senator who could hold his lum at all," Anakin said with a grimace. "He managed to puke on my boots three nights running. I thought Obi-Wan was going to strain something trying not to laugh."

His eyes widened at Rory's list of adventures. "Is anyone else concerned about where the squid might have gone?" He smiled. "I guess we should probably avoid the cafeteria for a while, just to be sure."

He blushed as well. "And I always want to hear about you. What's the fun news?"

Rory wrinkled her nose. "Ew. Was it intentional? I mean, do you think he was like, aiming or something?"

"I have no idea where the squid went, but really...how do you hide a giant squid?" She shrugged. "My bet is the park, since the pond is the only body of water large enough. Either that, or Drusilla actually sent him away."

"And...well." Rory blushed some more. "The actually fun news is that I'm getting a little brother or sister in July. The not-so-fun-for-me-but-funny-for-everyone-else news is that over the break, I got bitten by a gremlin."

"I'm absolutely sure he wasn't," Anakin said. "I was pretty impressed he managed to keep his feet, to be honest." He looked down. "Though my boots will never be the same."

He smiled. "That's wonderful news, Rory. Is your mother feeling all right?" He raised an eyebrow. "And what did the gremlins make you do?"

"She's whiny from the lack of coffee, but otherwise fine," Rory smiled. "It's going to be a long six more months."

She looked down and scuffed her feet. "Gremlins made me think I was three years old. It was apparently very funny and/or cute. I'm getting mixed reports on that."

Anakin tried to hide a smile behind his hand. "Three years old, huh? I'm sorry I missed it." He coughed. "I mean, those gremlins are a menace and ought to be stopped."

He stepped a little closer to Rory. "I have a present for you," he said. "Up in my room."

He glanced around the room a little nervously. "I wonder which one of these newcomers is my new roommate."

Rory arched a brow. "Yes, I apparently drew a picture of you. And about twenty other people, too. And no, there's no way you're ever seeing the way my three year-old self decided to depict you. Or the pageant, or any of the others I drew."

She looked up at him, tilting her head curiously. "A present? For me? Really? And...you're getting a roommate?"

"You drew a picture of me?" Anakin smiled. "I've got to see this." He waggled his fingers at her. "I have ways of making you talk, after all."

He stared at the ground for a moment. "I told you I'd bring you something back, didn't I?" He scowled. "And yes, a roommate. Obi-Wan seems to think that the socialization I've learned here is aided by having another roommate. I liked Michael--he was quiet. Hopefully the new one will be just as easy to ignore."

"No, no, no you can't see it," Rory said, laughing and shaking her head. "Because it's hidden away, for one thing. And no threat of tickling is going to change that."

She thought for a moment, and grinned. "That's right, you did. I'd forgotten. But you didn't have to bring me anything." Her mouth twisted slightly. "And yes, I hope your new roommate is quiet. And...discreet."

She quirked a brow. "I'm going to be moving out of Parker's extra room, soon, but I'm going to get another single."
