2nd floor hallway, evening

Angel was out in the 2nd floor hallway.

In theory he was going back to his room after taking Sean for a walk.

In reality he was standing in front of one of the many, many campaign posters that had his name on it and was trying to tear it down.

He might be heard to mutter words about really strong tape, and dire thoughts about someone whose name rhymed with Doreen.

Josh gave him a critical once over. "You wouldn't even crack the top fifty for bad haircuts, my friend. Carl Lavine, for one, has led the Worst Combover List for the last three hundred and ninety years."

Josh blinked. "Oh. Undead. Right."

He grinned. "So how long was Strom Thurmond really alive for? I'm guessing 98 years was a total PR campaign."

"Republican?" Josh finished. "I like you."

"The undead vote?" Josh's eyes lit up. "I knew some of those birth dates on Chicago's voting lists had to be right. But I'm guessing voter apathy would be pretty big with, um, undead Americans. Politicians aren't really taking a long view these days." He grinned. "I'm guessing health care's not a big hot button for your people, huh?"

Parker pokes him in the shoulder. "I thought that was Angelus. You slacker. 'That's not me, I don't have skills.' Come on."

"Again, I feel like I'm missing something here," Josh said, "but I'm pretty sure I don't care that much."

"Well, if you ran that town in Italy," Josh said, not quite believing the words that were coming out of his mouth, "I'd say you probably have at least some basic leadership skills."

He grinned. "You could probably pick some more up in one of my classes, though." He raised an eyebrow. "You know, if you were at all interested."

Josh blinked. "Um, yeah, probably not going to do that." He took a slight step away from Angel, a carefully polite smile pasted on his face.

"You TAed for a class that used torture? Here?" Josh's question ended in a very unflattering squeak. He was beginning to think that CJ had been painting life at this school in very, very broad strokes.

"I've got a rep on the Hill for being a bit of a vindictive bastard if you cross me, but, um, yeah. I'm betting I'm not coming close to this teacher."

"I can't believe I'm asking this, but what the teacher a human? Or, um, another undead American or something?"

"Got it," Josh said. He looked a little disturbed. "Should it worry me that I'm accepting all of this so calmly?"

Jack ambled down the hallway, and stopped when he saw Angel. "Hey, Not-Wearing-Leather-Pants-Boy, how's it shaking?" he asked, leering for all he was worth.

"He's talking to Angel, not you," Parker says from where she's fixing a poster. "Hey, Jack."
