Sophomore Class Stu-Co Meeting 4th Floor CR: Saturday Evening

Lana and Lilly have gone to some trouble to straighten up the common room and get it ready for the meeting. Hopefully they'll get a decent turn-out and be able to get some stuff figured out for the school elections. A couple of Lilly's posters are hung up on either side of the door so everyone will know this is the right place.

Lana and Lilly are both there early just in case. Lana's a little on the nervous side, but Lilly's calm and composed.

There is pizza and soda set out on a table, along with a bowl of M&M's, a few bowls with chips, and some brownies.

Come on in, mix and mingle with the other sophomores, and help us decide who wants to run for Student Council.

"Oh yeah?" Allie teases her gently. "He's someone special, I take it?"

Lana blushes a little more. "Very much so. He's... Well, he's one of the best guys I've met. Funny how a near tragedy can bring two people together, isn't it?"

"A near tragedy?" Allie asks, suddenly concerned. "What happened?"

"He and Han were playing around with swords at Professor Cregg's medieval Faire thing and his wrist got sliced almost to the bone. I kind of kept him from bleeding out and then I visited him at the hospital to make sure he was really okay, and then ended up helping him with his physical therapy and somewhere along the way..." Lana shrugs, "Something... happened and we kind of became a lot more than just friends.

"Wow. That's an interesting way to meet someone."

Allie smiles. "But you seem happy, so that's good."

"I am. Really happy." She sighs. "After the way my semester started out and the stuff with Archie and then Justin I figured I was pretty much doomed. And then I met Shep." She smiled over at him. "I guess I got really lucky all of a sudden."

"Well, that's good," Allie says, not really sure exactly what Lana was talking about with Archie and Justin, but not wanting to pry.

"I think I'm going to stay single for a while. I didn't realize how much being with Logan sucked my time away from other things."

"Good for you. You have to take care of yourself first. 'Cause if you don't take care of yourself, who will?"

Again from the couch, where he's not moving, but he is listening very intently, Shep hollers, "You will Lana. It's your M.O."

Allie looks over in Shep's direction again and shakes her head.

"I think I'll try the taking care of myself thing, thanks," she calls back.

Shep just shrugged and buried deeper into his blanker. Allie's loss.

Lana goes back over to sit on the couch next to Shep. She strokes his hair and touches his forehead, checking to see if his fever seems any better. "You're such a good sport," she murmurs.

"We don't have sports at this school. Besides I don't think I could walk across the room, let alone run across the field."

He stops realizing that that wasn't at all what she was talking about. And there was this little grin on her face that concerned him. He's suddenly a bit more alert. "Good sport about what?"

"Oh, lots of things," Lana said innocently. "Coming here to support me when you're sick as a dog, coming up with my campaign slogan, agreeing to run for Student Council..."

"Oh, okay." Shep flipped over towards the back of the couch and got himself settled as soon as he did Lana's words made it through the snot in his head and meds in his system. "Wait. What?!"

Lana laughed and went back to stroking his head. "Don't you remember deciding to run?" she said with a smirk.

Shep sighed, he thought the meds were only messing with his head. Apparently they could get to Lana too. "I told you, I feel too crappy to run anywhere."

Lana turns to look at him. "Brat. Right now, I'm a little busy taking care of you. But hey, you know, maybe *you* should make my campaign speech for me!" She sticks her tongue out at him.

"Vote for Lana. She likes to take care of people."

After a minute Shep blinks and realizes he made sense on accident.

"Aw..." Lana goes over and kisses him on the forehead. "You know, I think I'm gonna keep you."

Going back to his original plan he just agrees with everything everyone says. He's achy and getting cold now, so it's just easier. "Um, okay. Sure. That's fine."

Lana laughs. "No teasing or arguing? Now I *know* you're really sick. Want another blanket? I can go grab one from the room."

"Do I look up to an arguement right now? Anyway, I'm fairly sure I have a fever, so another blanket isn't going to matter. I won't be comfortable until after it breaks. But thanks anyway."

"I'm definitely sure you have a fever." She looks down at him with a little concern. "I wish there was something I could do to make you feel better."

Shep snorts a little, "You've got to be sick of saying that to me."
