Sophomore Class Stu-Co Meeting 4th Floor CR: Saturday Evening

Lana and Lilly have gone to some trouble to straighten up the common room and get it ready for the meeting. Hopefully they'll get a decent turn-out and be able to get some stuff figured out for the school elections. A couple of Lilly's posters are hung up on either side of the door so everyone will know this is the right place.

Lana and Lilly are both there early just in case. Lana's a little on the nervous side, but Lilly's calm and composed.

There is pizza and soda set out on a table, along with a bowl of M&M's, a few bowls with chips, and some brownies.

Come on in, mix and mingle with the other sophomores, and help us decide who wants to run for Student Council.

After listening to Lilly, Isabel panicked a bit because she didn't have a speech planned. But she was pretty sure she could get a few sentences out without looking like an idiot.

"Hi, I'm Isabel Evans. I'm definitely interested in running for class representative. I've held similar positions at my old high school, was responsible for our school Christmas pageant, and I did some cheerleading. I know that as a new person, I might not have the experience that some of you have with Fandom's unique environment. But maybe that would work in my favor. I'm seeing everything for the first time so I think that'll give me a different perspective to work with."

She smiled before continuing, "And Lilly was definitely right, as a class, we should stick together."

"Anyway that's all I have to say. Thanks!"

~~"Unique?" Good euphemism.~~

Jessica smiles supportively. "It's a good way to get in the swing of things here."

"Thanks. And I get the feeling there's a lot of things that swing around here." She stopped and thought for a second. "Oh my god, that did not come out right..."

Jessica smiles. "That too."

Isabel snickered. "Yeah, given a few of the messages I got yesterday, I had a feeling that might be true."

Allie smiles and is impressed that one of the new kids had the courage to run.

"You have my support," she says to Isabel after her speech. "I'm Allie."

"Thanks Allie. Nice to meet you by the way."

"You, too. What do you think of Fandom High so far?"

[ooc: np, I'm here all night!]

"Like I said, it's pretty unique. I'm from Roswell, if you don't count the alien conspiracy freaks, it's all pretty normal." She shrugged, "I wasn't expecting this. But, everyone seems really nice and I guess that's really what matters."

"I'm from New Jersey," Allie tells her. "So stuff like this? Completely new to me."

"Oh good, so there's more then just Angela and I? ~~Well, you and Angela but OMG I'm still in the alien closet.~~" Isabel smiled, "Did it take you a long time to get used to it? I still wonder once in a while if the last four days haven't been just a very detailed and surreal dream."

"Yes, there are other plain old humans around," Allie assures her. "Lana is, for one. Oh, and Lilly's best friend, Veronica. Um, I'm sure there are others, I just don't know a lot of people."

"Oh, I met Veronica at the party at Caritas the other night. She seemed really nice. I'm working on getting to meet people it's just a bit overwhelming at times. There's so many of them."

"I haven't talked to her much ~~because it's the same mun and that hurts my brain too much~~. And there are a lot of people here. I've been here since September and I barely know half the people in this room."

Lana smiles at her, "I think it might definitely work in your favor. And yeah, I'm all in favor of us sticking together as a class."

"Hopefully. I mean it's not the end of the world if I didn't make it. But at the same time student government can be fun and can make a difference if it's done right."

"Yeah, I know what you mean. On both counts."

[OOC: No problem.]

"Have you been involved in Student Council before?"

"No. I mean, I've done a lot of work with committees and that sort of thing, but I've never been on Student Council. I wasn't even sure I wanted to run, but I felt like I should come support my class, you know? Though after hearing everyone's speeches I feel pretty sure I don't need to worry about getting elected," she said with a smile.

"How about you?"

"I've done a lot of the same things. Like I said, I've done dance committees, helping out with food drives, the school pagaent, ~~rescuing by brother from the evil FBI Unit, chasing mysterious clues around the desert.~~ I think at some point in time I've been involved in a little bit of everything at school."

She looked over towards the guy in the blanket she'd seen Lana talking to. "Is that your boyfriend?"

"Sounds like you've been pretty active," Lana said admiringly.

She glanced over towards Shep. "Um... yeah, I... We haven't exactly put a label on it or anything, but we're definitely involved."

She shakes her head, "God, that sounds so cold. Let me try again. His name is Shep and he's one of the greatest guys ever, and yeah, he's really special to me and I'm pretty sure I am to him. That sounds better, doesn't it?"

"I like being involved. ~~I was a way to pretend I was normal just like everyone else.~~"

She looked towards Shep, "He's cute. It sounds a bit better, but it's your relationship. If you're happy, then labels don't really matter. I've dated, but there really hasn't been anyone super special yet."

Lana smiles. "He's definitely cute. And yeah, whatever it is we have, it's pretty special. I like being with him. I like who I *am* when I'm with him. He makes me laugh and he holds me when I cry. Can't ask for a whole lot more than that, I guess."

Lilly over to Isabel and smiles.

"Hi, I'm Lilly, obviously. Anyway, I just wanted to ask, while we're being semi-official - I ran Homecoming last semester, and am going to do something similar this semester. Would you be interested in co-chairing, or at least being on the committee? Because you sound totally perfect."

"Hi Lilly," Isabel smiled back. "I would definitely be interested in being involved. Something like Homecoming or Prom? That's such a special occasion. It needs to be done right."
