Sophomore Class Stu-Co Meeting 4th Floor CR: Saturday Evening

Lana and Lilly have gone to some trouble to straighten up the common room and get it ready for the meeting. Hopefully they'll get a decent turn-out and be able to get some stuff figured out for the school elections. A couple of Lilly's posters are hung up on either side of the door so everyone will know this is the right place.

Lana and Lilly are both there early just in case. Lana's a little on the nervous side, but Lilly's calm and composed.

There is pizza and soda set out on a table, along with a bowl of M&M's, a few bowls with chips, and some brownies.


Come on in, mix and mingle with the other sophomores, and help us decide who wants to run for Student Council.

Peter wandered into the common room and grabbed some soda. He had been just talking with Elizabeth Weir about sophomore Student Council, so this was a pleasant surprise.

Lana sees the new student come in and heads over to greet him. "Hey, welcome. I'm Lana Lang. I'm assuming you're a new student and a sophomore. Might you also be interested in running for Student Council?"

"You'd be assuming right on both counts. Peter Parker," he said. "Running for Student Council? God no, not me."

"Well, it was worth a try," she said with a smile. "I figure if I got roped into it I should sort of share the wealth, you know? Anyway, I'm glad you came. There's soda and pizza and lots of sophomores. "

"Well, up till today we really didn't seem to have anyone interested in running. And now we have Lily with one L, Lilly with two Ls, Isabel, Bridge, Me, and Shep - sort of by default, though I won't hold him to it. So, at least that's a reasonable amount. Lilly and I figured the sophomores ought to show some sort of class spirit, so... Oh, and welcome to Fandom, by the way."

Bridge bounces over to the guy he's never seen before, bound-and-determined to beat Angela's score meet as many new people as possible.

"Hi there," Peter said. He was slightly thrown by Bridge's bounciness. "I'm Peter. Peter Parker."

"Any relation to the other dude?" Bridge asks, curiously.

"The other dude?" Peter asked. "Oh, you mean Parker? Girl? Brown hair? Shoes of death? No, no relation."

"Good to know. I'm Bridge Carson, by the way." Bridge introduces himself, and then gets right down to business "so, you thinking of running for the council?"

"I wasn't planning on it," Peter said. "It's not really my thing."

"Have you ever been in student council before?" Bridge asks, curious.

"Nah, I've never been interested," Peter said, taking a sip of his soda.

"Oh!" Bridge says, "well, there goes my clever plan. Because if you'd just said 'no', then I would have said 'then how do you know it's not something you'd be good at?'"

"For once, I'm thankful for my tendency to ramble on," Peter said. "Are you running?"

"Har har," Peter mock-laughed while not-mock-grinning. "For Student Council, I mean, obviously."

"Yup!" Bridge says, cheerfully. "It seemed like the right thing to do at the time."

"I've said that so often about things that turned out to be horrible ideas," Peter said. "But, hey, you're enthusiastic about the job. Should be fun."

"Hah!" Bridge says, jumping in place and pointing a finger at Peter. "That's it, don't you see? If you think it's a good idea and it ends up badly, then something you think is a bad idea will probably end up being a good thing!"

Peter was really pretty impressed by the logic trap he found himself in. "Okay, you're not going to let this go, are you. Fine. What do I have to do?"

Peter pondered that having this guy on Student Council could be dangerous. Too much energy and way too clever. School events would never know what hit them.
