Barbossa feels that it's time to enlighten the new students (and faculty, should they feel like attending).

So he's gone through his archival footage of the last semester and tried to pull up video, audio, and photos of what makes Fandom High such a...unique...place to be.

He has put his copy of the holiday pageant into the common room's VCR first, but he also has tape of Annie the Vampire Slayer, the Strip Triad tournament, footage from Zombie Weekend, and Talky Toaster hitting on absolutely everything that walked past him.

In addition there's a copy of Jake's radio apology to Logan (and the song requests), the broadcast of the night Angel got souled, and photographs of Logan as a bunny, Cam as a puppy, John Crichton as Johnina, Marty as Connor, Anders wearing makeup after his first encounter with a gremlin, and the JA leather show.

If you ask him nicely, he'll even sell you a copy of Anakin's version of Little Bunny Foo Foo. He'll definitely let you watch the entire night's work of one Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants.

Come in, newbies, and be enlightened! Come in, old timers, and be humiliated! Come in, Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants! Barbossa has pie.

"I am completely, 100% boring," she lies some more.

"Well, that's a shame." Archie shakes his head exaggeratedly. "I'd hate to have to go elsewhere for amusement."

"I'm good for that," she says, and points at the TV. "I mean, elf."

Archie can't help giggling -- yes, giggling -- just a bit. "Not, perhaps, the best look on you," he says as diplomatically as he can. "Still, it's oddly endearing."

Jaye starts to answer that, then says, "Endearing, huh?"

Archie might have coughed. Just a little bit.

"Yes?"

She smiles. "Good answer."

"You're welcome?"

Archie's reputation for being a relatively smooth talker is really suffering tonight, isn't it?

Jaye sits back, feeling slightly more comfortable, because endearing yay! She may be smiling a little. Just a little. And if she's a little pink, it's pageant embarrassment, really.

If Archie's not laughing as loudly at the pageant, it's because he's starting to feel bad about making fun of Anders so much. Honestly.

He's not intentionally scooting a little closer to Jaye, either.

Good thing, because Jaye's not scooting any closer, either. She's certainly not trying to do so, because she doesn't want other people saying anything so that she has to throw things at them. It would ruin the moment.

It's not as if Archie doesn't have several pieces of candy in his pocket that he could throw at people if he wanted to. He'd just rather save it and eat it. Or possibly offer some to Jaye.

"Huh?" she asks. She's been a little focused. On the TV. Yeah.

"What?" Archie has been paying so much attention to the pageant that he has no idea what's been happening on the TV screen for the past ten minutes. "Er, I didn't say anything?"

"Oh. Good. I mean, I just thought you say something," Jaye says. "But if you didn't..."

"Er, no, nothing. Just --" Archie coughs. "It was a pleasant silence? Not that I dislike hearing you talk, I just --"

He just should really stop talking at the moment.

"Right," she says with a nod. "No talking. Not that talking is bad..."

She sighs. "I think we suck."

"Yes, we -- we do what?"

Jaye blinks. "Um. Nothing. Forget I said anything. Pleasant silence, yay."

Archie wonders if the silence would be more pleasant if he very subtly scooted closer.

If Jaye knew he was wondering this, she'd probably say it would be

Since Jaye saying it would be is purely hypothetical and based on whether she knew what Archie was thinking in the first place, it's really just a fortuitous impulse decision on his part to inch over a little closer to Jaye.

There's no smiling again and Jaye might kind of cross her legs toward him maybe just a little.

Archie's not blushing at all. Really.

Jaye looks over and kinda smiles a little, and maybe blushes, too, because sometimes she's a huge dork.
