Self-Defense - Wednesday evening, Gym

The mats have been laid out, food is on a nearby table, and Alanna is bouncing in the middle of the room. The only new addition is a small black cat napping underneath the table.

"Okay guys, same drill as last week. Sign up, I pair you up and then I'll walk around and bug you about what you're doing wrong. Also, I don't want a repeat of last week. I don't care how minorly you are hurt, stop and talk to me. I don't want people walking around with bruises and scrapes. Don't make me break you up physically. Okay, gang, pair up."

Depending on how good Alanna's hearing his, she might have heard him mutter something under his breath along the lines of "Rude bitch," as he turned around and continued walking.

Pip spun around. "Did the bloody cat just bloody talk?" he asked.

Pip walked up to the cat and knelt down in front of it. "Guess after being here for a while something like this shouldn't suprise me." He reaches a hand out to pet it. "You got a name, kitty?"

"So it's true. Pets do resemble their owners," Pip mumbled. "Hiya Faithful. How are you doing?"

"I'll keep that in mind," Pip responded. "You know what?" he said as he stood up. "I think we got started off on the wrong foot." He extended his hand. "Pip Bernadette."

Pip's got a pretty stong grip himself. He hopes that he, himself, isn't putting too much strength behind it.

He appears to be having an inner battle inside his head. One side is saying "Be civil, be civil, be civil." The other side is saying "Tell her off, tell her off, tell her off."

A much darker side is saying "Just punch her in the face."

Currently, the first impulse is winning.

For now.

"English isn't my first language, so I think I might have gotten the wrong impression from you. It felt like you were brushing me off as irrelevant."

Funny, I learned better manners and I was raised by freaking mercenaries.

Is what Pip wanted to say.

Instead, he had a better idea. One that would probably allow him to remain civil and get the personal satisfaction of the third urge.

"So, Miss Self-Defense Club, are you up for a fight?"

"Student Council at Lunch. Class at periods six and seven. Aside from that? Any time is great. Wanna say fifth period, to pick an arbitrary number?"

"Freshmen," Pip responded. "By virtue of being the oldest Freshman, I think."

"There was an official Securities Officer? I thought that Rover took care of all Fandom Security. Well, before he quit. Smith seems to handle everything now."

Pip glanced to wear the cat had run off. "I don't think he likes me," he said.
