VICTORY PARTY! - Second Floor Common Room

The monsters are defeated, and Rory and Parker have been sprung from the clinic.

Both girls made brief stops in their rooms for candy, snack food and drinks, and piled everything on the counter of the common room kitchen.

The TV's on, sound muted, and the stero's blaring "We Are the Champions."

Come celebrate kicking their cold, white asses, people.

Angela has dusted the snow off of herself, changed from her frozen jeans into something drier and warmer, and brushed her hair.

She has never been happier to be inside.

"Angela!" Rory cried happily. "You're okay! We win! Again!"

"We did! I am!" Angela says, a little overwhelmed by Rory's enthusiasm. "I burned my hand, but that's it. It was pretty cool when the snow men just melted back into regular snow like that."

She register's Rory's limping gait. "Are you all right?"

"I messed up my knee, but I'll get over it," she smiled. "And how much do I love that coffee was an actual weapon this time?"

"I thought that was what you had, but was too far away to be sure," Angela says. "It looked like you were pouring some on Lee Adama?"

"Yeah, his face was all freezy. So coffee is a healing thing AS WELL AS a weapon. Jakey and my mom are going to be so happy."

"Probably good for his hair, too," Angela muses. "Isn't coffee supposed to bring out red, or something?"

"I've never wasted coffee on hair before," Rory said thoughtfully. "We should tell Lee that so he'll be less sad."

"We should," Angela agrees. "Why is he sad? I thought I saw Kara Thrace around somewhere lately. I mean, not that girlfriend stuff is the only reason he'd be sad, but..." her voice trails off.

"I just meant sad for his hair," Rory smiled. "He's kind of vain. But yeah, Kara's back, I think."

"Oh. I just figured the coffee would shower out anyhow." Angela grins. "Did anybody tell you about the thing he, Xander Harris and I did in art class yesterday>? It was awesome."

"I thought I saw - I was busy climbing on Bridgey and Barbossa. What happened?" Rory asked with a quirk of her brow.

"I completely forgot we had that class together," Angela admits. "But basically we picked this statue of Apollo and Daphne -- that's the story where she turns into a tree to get away from him, right? Somehow we ended up reversing the genders. So I was Apollo, Lee was Daphne (and he took off his shirt), and Xander was the tree. It was awesome."

"What statue were you guys making?"

"Hey, Angela!" Peter called from his seat. "Nice and warm?"

"Now I am. The snow things were trying to bury me in snowballs, or something. But I killed them with ramen and textbooks. So it was cool."

"How was it for you?"

Peter really didn't want to explain everything, so he kept it simple. She'd find out more on the radio tonight, he was sure. "I got a little beat up, but I helped take down an abominable snowman. That was pretty cool."

"We had abdominable snowmen?" Angela says, eyebrows raised in surprise. "I only saw the ... minion snowmen, I guess. And the thing with tentacles."

"How'd you get beat up? I splashed oil on myself and burned my hand." She holds her left hand out to show Peter the banadage."

Peter looked at her hand. It sure was bandaged. He was very interested in the bandage as he said, "Um, I ended up outside the gym. Things got rough. I survived, though."

"That's good," Angela says. "Surviving, I mean."

"I would have been way too afraid to fight on the ground. I want to leave it to people with actual powers, y'know?"

Fine. Screw it. But everyone else would have to find out when the radio let them know. "I completely understand. That's why I was down there. I have powers."

"I didn't know that," Angela says. Once upon a time, she would have been surprised, but now? Eh.

"What kind?"

"Yeah, I was trying to keep it fairly quiet - I have my reasons - but that's kind of out the window now," Peter said.

"They're spider-based. Strength, agility, I can walk on walls. Fun stuff." He realized that when he listed them like that, it didn't really sound spidery until the walls part. Oh well.

"That does sound fun," Angela says. "But I'm just sort of generally jealous of people with powers. It makes life way easier at this school. Though I get not wanting everyone in the world to know it."

She does not ask whether he can shoot web and where from, though her mental image is pretty amusing.

"I really wanted to be normal here. I guess I am. Just not in the way I expected." Peter shrugged. He also chose not to ask her why she seemed pretty amused by something. He didn't want to know.

"Yeah ... the normal kids are the freaks at this school, kind of," Angela says, thinking about it. "But I think we're all pretty used to whatever gets thrown at us, you know?"
