Boys-Only Valentine's Day Strategic Session (Sixth Floor Common Room, 7:30PM FHT)

Okay, so it's a little dusty in here. Anders grabs one of the couch cushions and gives the tables and chairs a quick wipedown. Then, coughing, he straightens up the rest of the couch cushions and lays out the several trays' worth of loot from Jeff, the God of Biscuits on the countertop. He's a little bit out of breath by the time he runs down to his room and back up for the sodas, cups, and chips, but everything is pretty much good to go for tonight's big guys-only brainstorming session.

He flops down onto one of the couches and waits for John and whoever else might show up.

John smiles at the list. "Yeah, she might resist at first but she's just stubborn."

Anders snickers and leans over toward John. "One word to the sailor and you die, Crichton."

"Lips are zipped," John says, miming the zipped lips action. "This is my payback to Jaye."

"So any ideas on how to ask a girl out? Should you give them gifts first or write a speech or something?"

"Asking her out?" John ponders this. "Well, there's the direct approach of flat out asking or there's the small talk then asking or the giving gifts, showing interest and then asking."

"What approach do you think will work with these girls? Would they all be different? Should I just give a bunch of gifts out and then see which ones return a response? Like a wide based scientific experiment?"

"Might have to do things differently for each girl," John says. "For instance, Jaye? Doesn't like gifts. I think she'd be better off with just some small talk and an invitation. If she turns you down, be persistent. Molly likes gifts and she might enjoy receiving some small things. Nadia's in my shop class and likes to build things if that helps."

Blair nodded and scribbled furiously. "So gifts for Molly and maybe something construction related for Nadia. No gifts for Jaye but don't take no for an answer. Got it!"

"You got it buddy," John says, giving him a thumbs up. "Jaye might become aggressive because she's known to do that. She's a teddy bear, won't hurt you at all."

Blair scribbled Jaye Tyler = Teddy bear in his notebook. "Thanks man, this is really helpful!"

"No problem," John says cheerfully. "If Jaye gives you any flack, let me know and I'll convince her for you."

"I'll remember that, man." Blair bounced happily.

John grins and gives another thumbs up.

"Maybe you should hang out with her for a little while. Find something that she likes a lot so the gift is special. At least, that's what I'd want someone to do for me."

Blair grinned. "That's a good idea, I just don't if I have enough time before Valentines day."

Anders laughs. "Don't look at me, man. I was the one who got asked out, and I was hung over at the time. Not that I'm usin' that as an excuse, but I got no advice there."

"Sounds like you lucked out, man!" Blair grinned and bounced. "Maybe I need to find a strong girl to date. Like an amazon warrior or something."
