2nd Floor Common Room - Evening

Parker really didn't get much done today. She's watching the DVD of Midsummer Night's Dream -- the one with Kevin Kline and Callista Flockhart -- and making mental notes of what *not* to do as Queen of the Fairies.

She's also hoping to run into some people, so she can get some answers about what's been happening while she was in England.

Worn out from the trip to Baltimore and possibly from last night and the night before that, Cameron sauntered into the common room and plopped down on the couch. "Yo, Parkie. Did you bring the madness back to Fandom?"

"Don't tell me it was actually calm around here. The only madness I brought back was living inside the brains of my fellow travelers." Parker rolled her head to the side and studied him. "Anyone heard or seen anything of Darla?"

"Nope," Cameron shook his head. "Angel said several people have been looking for her, but they found nothing. Molly and I were out the entire night and there wasn't any sign of anything vampire related."

"I don't think you will." Parker's voice was fatalistic. "And I don't think it's your fault." She looked away. "If she were still here, she'd be offering us ransom, or a bribe: take away Angel's soul, and I'll cure him. Or even more, just to gloat, if she knew the cure was out of reach."

Bridge wanders in to the Common Room. He's not as bouncy as usual.

"Hey," he says, pouncing on a couch with lots of cushions.

"Is it out of reach?" He rubbed his forehead. "Veronica was working on something? I don't know, I've been trying not to get in the way. Darla seemed like the easiest solution."

Callisto wandered into the common room, and flopped onto the couch with a grunt that might have been a "Hello."

Archie comes in after the Baltimore trip, his pockets still bulging with the five or six disposable cameras (all of them completely used now, since it took him a while to get the hang of the viewfinder and how to wind the film) he picked up while he was there. He's in a much better mood than he's been in for a very long time.

"Well," he drawls, "if it isn't the lovely and formidable Parker. How are you this evening?"

"I asked Janet Fraiser. The cure is the blood of a Slayer, a lot of it, evidently. And while we had two or three back in October, there's none hanging around here now," Parker said grimly. "She's working on a substitute using the blood of every 'Chosen One' on the Island." She looked over at him and gave him a closed-mouth smile. "Good idea, though. And I still wish we had that bitch to deal with for this mess."

"Hey." Parker smiled. "Haven't seen you for a while. How goes the Spring Break?"

"Hey. You look... sane." Which was only significant because of their last phone conversation. "How are you doing?"

Parker smiled at him, glad to see a face that wasn't down for one reason for another. "Rather travel-lagged still, and at loose ends. Otherwise, trying to enjoy Midsummer," she nodded to the television. "It's good to see you, Lieutenant. What's new around the Island?"

"He won't take human blood," Cameron leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "Yeah well, I hope she falls and stakes herself by accident or something."

Rory wandered in looking a bit shell-shocked, and sat firmly on the couch.

"Okay," Bridge says with a shrug. "Spent the last two days screening out potential Chosen Ones at the clinic. S'tiring."

"Bridgey! It has been so very, very, very, very long since I saw you last, woe!" said Rory, who had seen Bridge that morning.

"I couldn't tell you the latest, as I haven't been here all day," he replied, blowing her an airy kiss. "The trip to Baltimore was wonderful, though, and being on the deck of a ship again is the best feeling I've had in quite some time. A pity it was at anchor, really."

He sobered a bit. "People have been rather on edge here lately too, but doing what they can to help Angel for the most part." Rolling his eyes almost imperceptibly he added, "Even Samuel did his part, it seems."

"Archie!" Bridge says. "Hi!"

"It's an Archie!" Rory said, waving.

"Hello, Rory!" called Archie, waving at her with a smile. "You look less than all here today."

"Hey, Cal," Rory said a little more gently than she normally would. "How're you doing?"

"You were gone so long, woe." Bridge says, making a sadface.

"He's going to have to, or he's going to die," Parker said starkly. "His scruples are not worth his life."

She rubbed her eyes and said, "We should be so lucky. But good job, searching for Darla anyway. No way to know it wouldn't work until you tried."

"Hello, Cadet," Archie replies, saluting him. "You are remarkably denuded of animal life today."

Callisto grabbed a cushion to use as a pillow. "Ask me again in next month, and I'll tell you."
