Brunch to Save the Teal Deer, Lobby, 11 a.m. through the afternoon

As the poster promised, there are bacon, eggs and toaster strudel available in the dorm lobby. There's even extra icing for the strudel, and gallons of coffee. It probably smells amazing.

But to get to this bounty, you need to fork over $2. Somebody will probably press a teal deer awareness button at you, too.

What to do? The coffee and strudel do look good...

"Oh look," Pip said, stepping into the room, "Lady offering brunch for two dollars. Lady offering brunch for two dollars, meet my friend, two dollars." Pip pulled two dollars out of his pocket. "Two dollars, lady. Lady, two dollars." He looked up at Angela and winked. Maybe blinked. Hard to tell. "I think two dollars likes you. He doesn't like a lot of people."

"I am quite fond of two dollars," Angela said, putting the money in the box. "So how are you, Pip? Want a button, or just the food?"

Angela nodded. "Yeah, we're trying to protect the teal deer. Fandom is one of the few places they exist, and they're being hunted half to death, poor little things."

She waved a pamphlet at Pip. "See?"

Pip took the pamphlet and skimmed through it. "Aren't there laws in place in this country to protect endangered animals?" he said. "Are the authoroties doing anything? ...Well, then again, considering the authorities around here... might not be high on their list of priorities."

Angela snorted. "You think Mayor Tex would do anything to protect animals she diodn't have to do?" she pointed out. "Plus, the problem's not very well known. We just found out about it Friday."
