Basement Pool: Thurday after classes: Pool Party!

Various inflatable pool toys are scattered in the pool and around it.

There's a radio playing any number of random CDs provided by Pippi. So unless somebody else wants to bring some music there's an eclectic mix of Flogging Molly, Butler Fetish, The Ramones, and sea shanties blaring.

There's also a table chock full of foodstuffs.

Swim. Eat. Play.

Walter skipped the food and made straight for the pool.

"I see Captain Dignity gave you the night off," Pip said. "Is he extending you the same courtesy for prom?"

"I asked him for the night off last week when he sat me down for a nice fatherly chat." Walter made a face and treaded water. "As for prom... ~~I haven't had the chance to play that as you well know meaniehead.~~" He made a face. "Suffice to say I'm wearing a 'fabulous' gown Saturday night."

Pippi was dangling her feet in and sitting on the edge.

She giggled when Walter mentioned his gown.

"But it is fabulous Walter!"

"Seriously," Pip said. "We're all looking forward to it. You'll be, without a doubt, the prettiest girl at the prom."

~~*stickes tongue out*~~

"That's Nadia's job. She has to do all those girl things for me. I'm just being the girl and wearing the 'fabulous' gown."

Walter grinned. "It's one way to get some attention from straight boys, I guess."

"Is that a sought after demographic for you, Walter?" Pip asked, grinning. "Still, I'm sure Nadia will make you pretty, oh so pretty. Why, if you weren't going to have such a strapping handsome lad on your arm, I daresay I'd hit on you myself."

"Definitely not," Walter said with a smirk and headshake. "But the possibility of seriously confusing someone about his sexuality..." he shrugged and broadened his smirk to a grin, "...priceless."

"Well, if you're going to make anyone's head explode, remember that we're all wearing very expensive clothes that don't belong to us." He smirked. "You know, for someone who's only 14 and from a time which frowned on alternative sexualities, you're pretty confident in yours."

That earned a blush. Walter bounced in the water and submerged completely on one of the bounces before coming up again, feeling a tad less flushed.

"That's unusual?"

Nadia surfaced from her dive a few feet away, blinking water out of her eyes. "What's unusual?"

"All I heard was 'alternative sexualities'," Ivanova put in, doing a lazy backcrawl in their direction. "I'm in."

Pip shrugged. "I was just saying that I find it suprising that Walter is so confident in his homosexuality at the age of fourteen, especially considering that he comes from the 1940's."

Nadia glanced over at Walter with a very slightly raised eyebrow. "That's true. How would you really know unless you tried both sides?" She looked over at Ivanova. "Maybe I should try kissing girls for awhile,"

"What about you, Pip?" No, let's not have the focus on his sexuality, thank you. "Did you ever wonder if guys were going to be more to your taste?"

"Oui. That's why I tried it," Pip said. "In Australia. Decided that the girls, they taste better. You ever tried the other side?"

Ivanova was chuckling over the entire conversation. "Nadia, if you ever feel like experimenting . . ." she offered lightly with a waggle of her eyebrows.

Eep.

Walter shook his head at Pip. "It hasn't come up."

No, he's not looking at Nadia. Or blushing. Or wondering if he should be having another brownie.

As for Nadia?

Well, she was torn between wanting to egg on the conversation about Walter trying girls and wondering what it would be like to snog Ivanova.

She? Was blushing. Just a little, though.

A blush, success! Ivanova smirked. She was evil, wearing a bikini for the first time in a very long time, and had left all ex-girlfriend-related emo in her room. Excellent.

Nadia caught the smirk and knew she'd been caught in her blush. That just wouldn't do.

Time to act cool. "I might have to take you up on that, Ivanova. Because that bikini is very nice."

And because Ivanova did have nice lips. Nadia was a fan of lips.

Walter blinked. Girlkissy?

"What? No organized event with picture taking, flags, and glitter?"

"I'm rather fond of it myself," Ivanova murmured, still smirking, stretching a bit in the water. "Wait - how is glitter involved?"

"Glitter is involved in everything," Pip answered. He turned to Walter and grinned. "It hasn't? Well, that's quite the shame. If it hasn't ever come up, how can you be so sure?"

He swam around and altered his position. "And before you start thinking you can distract me by encouraging Nadia and Ivanova to kiss, I'd like to point out that, oh dear, they seem to be in my blind spot. I can't see them at all. Such a shame."

Pippi makes ready with the camera... In a clandestine kind of way.
