Early afternoon, Friday, 1st floor lobby

Well, it's sort of Xander's common room now. In the way that it belongs to everybody, and most of his associations with it involve certain red-clad authority figures more than other students, and there's no kitchen. But anyway.

There's a kitchen in 121. He made brownies. Yes, from a box. They're on the table by the tv.

Which is playing a classic black&white First Mister episode of Mr. What, because it's a little late to try convincing anybody around here that he's not a geek.

With a purple frog. Who's watching from his tank on a conveniently-placed end table. Actually Jeremiah probably has the better view.

Elizabeth's eyes were filled with compassion and concern. "Is this because of your trip away?" she asked. "I'm Elizabeth."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Elizabeth. I'm guessing Parker talked to you?" Jack looked away. "Yeah. It's always the same, though, isn't it? No matter how careful you are, something always gets left behind." He fidgeted, his arms tightening around her. "This time it was memories."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
"She mentioned that you weren't okay, but that you would be," Elizabeth said quietly. "That it was something I should ask you about yourself." She bit her lip, her own grip tightening on him. "Oh, Jack. All of them? I'm here for you."

The impulse to make a joke bubbled up, but he ignored it. Leaning his cheek against her hair, his hands splayed across her back, he sighed deeply, the tremor of tension he'd been ignoring all day fading slightly. "I don't remember anything from here, not before Tuesday anyway. And thank you. People keep saying things like that. It helps."

Pulling away, he summoned a smile. "But enough about that. It's not like it's the first time it's happened, and there's so much sexiness on full display. Shirtless Day is a success, and I've been told that, as a result, we can look forward to seeing Parker wrestling in Jello."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth rubbed his back gently. "That's good," she said softly.

"Think it should be a regular thing?" she asked, smiling back at him. "Oh, really? Who's she going to be wrestling? And is she going to be drunk first?"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't have details, but Aeryn's John told me that Parker promised to Jello wrestle in return for Shirtless Day. He didn't say what flavour, though." His eyes glazed over slightly at the thought. "I don't know who she's going to be wrestling, but I doubt there'd be any shortage of volunters. As long as we got them drunk first."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth grinned. "John said, huh? I don't think he's got a death wish by making that up," she replied. "There could be a whole tournament!"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Jack snorted. "I can't imagine anyone would have that much of a death wish. I want to be there when he calls her on it, though." He matched her grin. "We could have a Jello Wrestling Championship. Combine it with the next Shirtless Day, and wow..." Eyes still glazed over, he shook himself, focusing on Elizabeth. "I'm pretty sure that Parker would end up being the Champion, but it would be a hell of a sight to see. We could sell tickets, make our fortunes."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Me too. With camera," Elizabeth nodded, still grinning. "I'd put money on her too. Factor in video and official pictures and manage the bets? We'd be rolling in it!"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
"We could take it on the road, get sponsorship. We'd be the world's first Offical Dessert-based Sporting Event." He put an arm around her shoulder, and swept his hand in the direction of the door. "You and me, on the road, infecting the world with a love of Jello Wrestling. The only thing to decide now is what flavour. Maybe lime?"

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
"We could even branch out into pudding wrestling," Elizabeth nodded seriously. "We could have different flavours for different grades or levels perhaps?"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Brilliant! The lower the level, the worse the flavour. Give people a real incentive to progress. Pudding can be the Winter version, because it can be served warm. Pudding Wrestling in winter, Jello Wrestling in summer. Wonder if we could get it into the Olympics? International competitors vying for the gold medal in Jello wrestling." He couldn't help snickering. "But we have to keep the uniforms simple. No shirts, obviously, in honour of the noble day on which the sport was devised."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth just began to giggle helplessly. "It's brilliant," she said. "And if beach volleyball can be an Olympic sport, why can't Jello Wrestling." She nodded. "Oh, of course. And we'd need bright colors to contrast the Jello."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Definitely. And I'm thinking glow in the dark uniforms and black lights for the special events." Jack nodded seriously. "Jello Wrestling. It'll be the next huge craze. Maybe even celebrity Jello Wrestling. But what to call it? Parker's Pudding Collective?" He considered that for a second, imagining Parker's reaction. "Uh, no. We might get in trouble for that one. What about Jostling With Jello? It's got a nice ring to it."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Ooh, yes, totally," Elizabeth nodded. "I like it. Although we might need to check with the Jello people in case it's a trademarked name."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Jack slapped himself in the forehead. "It's obvious who's going to be the brains of this outfit. I bet they'd want in on the action, too," Jack grumbled. "Jello Wrestling is bigger than trademarks and laws. It can trace it's heritage back to the Noble and Sacred Tradition of Shirtless Day."

His voice got louder and he stood straighter, waving his fist in the air. Unfortunately his barely stifled laughter was kind of ruining the dramatic effect. "Jello Wrestling belongs to the People!"

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth? Might have had her digital camera set to "film" mode during Jack's impassionated speech. She bit her lip, trying not to laugh. "You tell it to them!" she nodded firmly.

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Jack collapsed on the nearest chair, laughing uproariously. Let's face it, few things amused him as much as his own antics.

"Elizabeth, you are wonderful. It's a damn shame that you're taken. Unless that's changed in the last few days?" he asked hopefully.

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth grinne, and shook her head. "Sorry, I'm still very much taken," she said. "But when I'm not? You'll be the first to know."
