2nd Floor Common Room: evening
Rory was curled up on the couch with a small ball of fuzz in her lap and a turtle tank on couch beside her.
Vladdie would occasionally nod and give a small noise in his sleep as he slowly woke. And Rory, meanwhile, just flipped through the channels in boredom.

"Oh, no," Rory giggled. "I'm turtle-sitting. But my friend, who's...um, out of town at the moment, doesn't really socialize him. So when I'm left in charge, I try to get the poor thing out and about when I can."

"Turtles have a need for socialization?" Peter asked. "How can you tell? Are you sure he's not hungry or something?"

"See, that's what Anakin would say," Rory said, smiling. "But I think getting Yoda out and about is good for him. He likes having little friends. He gets along very well with Xander Harris's frog, for instance."

"Anakin?" Peter knew the name was familiar. "Oh, the flight workshop instructor, right?" He took a closer look at the turtle. "Is there smiling when he's happy?"

She carefully plucked Yoda out of his tank and set him on the arm of the couch, peering at him. "He's never smiled for me," she confessed, "but I'm firmly convinced that he's just being coy."

Peter looked at the little turtle as well. "Turtles have a reputation for being coy certainly. Does he smile for Xander's frog? Maybe he's missing his special friend?"
no subject
"Um. They're not...special friends. I mean, they're friends. But they're not...special friends," she said significantly, looking at Yoda. "But I've never seen him smile at Jeremiah, either. So hmm."

Rory stared at Yoda. "It's possible."
