Rory was curled up on the couch with a small ball of fuzz in her lap and a turtle tank on couch beside her.

Vladdie would occasionally nod and give a small noise in his sleep as he slowly woke. And Rory, meanwhile, just flipped through the channels in boredom.

Sam nods back, in the way of most teenage boys. "Hi."

"You're one of the new kids, right?" she asks.

"What? No, I've been here all along. You don't remember me?" Sam smirks. "Sorry, I couldn't resist. Yeah, I'm new. My name's Sam."

"Aeryn," she says. "And there are actually people here I still haven't met yet."

"That seems understandable. There's a lot of people here, a lot more than I imagined there'd be."

"I actually think the student population has doubled in size over the past week," she says. "It's a bit new."
