Meerkat Campfire, early evening.

After an extremely lazy day of sleeping in late and doing very little other than up finishing threads from yesterday, Isabel wandered out and started the Meerkat campfire. She's got everything needed to make S'mores and coconut angels. Off to the side a CD case is open and the CD is glowing slightly. It's also playing music.

Life is good.

[ooc: Coconut angels are thick slices of french bread that's dipped in condensed milk, rolled in coconut and then toasted over the fire. Sounds bizarre but it tastes great.]

"The English one," she replied. "We never really had a chance to talk before. It's funny, the whole different dimensions, different universe thing really doesn't phase me. But the idea that he's somehow skipped sixty years into the future. That's bizarre."

"He's in Stickbug. I think he may have an unsightly foot fungus," Greg said seriously.

"You've been checking out his feet?" Isabel asked wide-eyed.

"It's unavoidable," he said solemnly.

"I see," she said. "Well not really, but it's probably a guy thing. So you never said, what did you sing?"

"'I Believe in a Thing Called Love' by the Darkness" Greg told her. "And 'Toxic' by Britney Spears."

"I don't think I've heard of the one song. But Toxic?" Isabel boggled. "Why?"

"We had to pick a song we liked, and one we hated," he explained. "It's a weird workshop."

"Okay, that makes sense," Isabel said, relieved. "I thought you were a fan or something. And of course the workshop is weird. It's taught by creepy guy."

"Oh, you think he's creepy too?" Greg asked eagerly. "I was worried I was the only one."

"For prom? The people in town ran a golf cart shuttle from the school down to the town hall," she explained. "He drove me down and pretty much made a really bad pass at me when he realized I was alone."

"You went to prom alone?" Greg asked incredulously. "And my teacher hit on you? Ew."

Isabel shrugged, "It wasn't a big deal. I actually had a really good time. The worst part of the entire evening was creepy guy." She started laughing, "A week later I was down at Caritas with Parker and he was there. It was more of the same. I don't know how it happened, but suddenly his drink wound up in his lap."

"I wonder how that happened," he said, wide-eyed.

Isabel cracked her knuckles and tried to look innocent. "Didn't anyone tell you about the random tremors we have in Fandom? They knock people's drinks over all the time."

"I bet they're responsible for those cabin-invading ducks, too." Greg shook his head sadly.

"It's just one of those things," she agreed. "So any exciting plans for the weekend?"

"Absolutely none," he said brightly. "How about you?"

"Nothing much," she said. "I'm going out to Caritas tomorrow night, but beyond that, mostly just hanging around and being social. Although I ordered another puzzle so I might start working on that. Yes, I like puzzles."

"I like them too, but I usually lose a piece," he confessed. "Which really doesn't speak much for the state of my future lab."

"You'll do fine. It's easier to misplace a puzzle piece then a beaker full of chemicals. At least I hope so. Say," she asked thoughtfully. "You wouldn't know a way to start a very small contained fire would you?"

"It's not hard," Greg said pensively. "Why?"

"Oh, no particular reason," she said innocently. "Fire's pretty."

"It can be. There are substances that turn fire colors, too," Greg told her. "I have a bunch of chemicals that do that."

"Really? You'll have to show me sometime," she said. "If you don't mind that is."
