Meerkat Campfire, early evening.

After an extremely lazy day of sleeping in late and doing very little other than up finishing threads from yesterday, Isabel wandered out and started the Meerkat campfire. She's got everything needed to make S'mores and coconut angels. Off to the side a CD case is open and the CD is glowing slightly. It's also playing music.

Life is good.

[ooc: Coconut angels are thick slices of french bread that's dipped in condensed milk, rolled in coconut and then toasted over the fire. Sounds bizarre but it tastes great.]

"I appreciate the way you phrased that," Peter said with a nod in return. "Can I hope that time heals all wounds or shall you set us an impossible task to fulfill before yours is granted."

She considers that. "I like the sound of the second thing..."

"Normally that task is reserved for kings who wish to find a proper suitor for their daughters. But in this case...would you like a golden apple? Water from inside a volcano? A feather from an extinct bird?"

"No birds," she says quickly. "I'm sure I can come up with something."

"No birds then," Peter said with a nod. "And I have full faith in your ingenuity. Are your workshops going well at least?"

"I've only had one so far. Wilderness Survival, this morning. My second's tomorrow. How are yours so far?" See, a whole two sentences without a threat. Or ducks.

"Very good. We had to fight hungry badgers in First Aid and talk about 'no trace' camping in Outdoor Leadership. And karate. At which I am a complete beginner. So that's always fun."

Peter appreciated the lack of threats. It made him feel like there might be a calm before the storm after all.

Aeryn's not saying anything about that calm before the storm thing.

"Hungry badgers?" Aeryn repeats.

"We had to apply the necessary First Aid to the victims in the scenarios. The one my group got involved a group of slumbering sunburned seabathers who were sleeping through both the tide coming in and hungry badgers nibbling at them. Also? We had an itchy nose. I wanted to declare them not worth saving, but that seemed against the spirit of the class."

Aeryn stares at him. "You're making this up."

"On my honour, I'm not."

"Apparently we have polar bears here," she offers.

"The climate's not a bit warm for them? Or are they special non-ice loving polar bears?"

"I haven't been able to figure it out yet," she says. "They must have found some way to survive out here. I'm not sure I want to know what they eat."
