Pangolin Campfire [Saturday Evening]

Bridge has got the campfire going, with an assortment of junk foods- of both of the roasting-over-a-fire and not kinds stockpiled to share with anyone who happened to pass by.

Xander snickered. "Well, I don't think I've actually counseled anybody yet, per se. Or maybe I did; I advised wee Greggie to be very, very afraid of the lengths a cabin full of women will go to enact their revenge."

"Not that I think he or any of the Stickbugs listened. Did you hear what the did this morning?" Isabel asked. "They have a death wish."

"I heard sounds that made it seem like a really great idea to get some more sleep, then by the time I did get outside, there was... mess. I take it some splodination occurred?"

"They blew up a cheesecake," she explained. "Molly and Dawn got covered. Then, to add insult to injury? When they went to take showers they found out they'd turned off the hot water as well."

"Well, I've gotta admit, as a suicide attempt, it's got style," Xander said thoughtfully.

"There will be vengeance, but since you're a counselor-type person, I suppose I can't tell you much about it. You'll have to wait with everyone else," Isabel laughed.

"Weeeelll, even as a counselor-type person, I think I can prolly look the other way as long as nobody's actually blowing up cheesecake in my bed, or running my shorts up the flagpole." Xander snickered. "But Cyril and Floyd will protect Flamingo Cabin from such atrocities, so I figure I'm good."

"In that case, once we decide what the vengeance will be, I'll fill you in. We need to plot first." Isabel raised an eyebrow, "Cyril and Floyd? Who are they? More newbies?"

"They're the Pink Plastic Protectors of... okay, I ran out of P's. They're also lawn ornaments, which now live outside of our cabin. Veronica named one, and Cal did the other."

"Flamingos for the Flamingos. Now I get it," she laughed. "Oh, I heard there's a plan to make your boyfriend spend a day doing nothing work related. Count me in with making it happen if you need help."

Xander blinked. "I? Am not in on this plan. Possibly I was meant to be one of its victims?"

"Ahh," Isabel replied. "Then perhaps it's merely idly plotting. Bridge mentioned Jaye wanting to make him have a work free day or something like that. I suggested Fourth of July weekend because summer holiday weekends are meant to be work free." She shrugged, "If there had been real plans I would have volunteered to help."

Xander looked thoughtful. "There could be plans, I suppose. Though with Bridge, something to work on is kinda like breathing. If you locked him in a room without a project to fix or something, I don't know what he'd do."

"I was thinking more of dragging him to the beach, although I know that he mentioned glove issues," she said. "What do you think?"

Xander was thinking that he'd just thought of something Bridge could do if you locked him in a room all day, and being really glad he hadn't said that out loud.

"Beach...could be fun too, I guess." Blink. "Ah, fun, in addition to relaxing. Yes."
