Camp Gym, Monday Evening

Feeling restless, Bel headed for the gym to work off some excess energy. He warmed up by abusing the punching bag, then picked up one of the wooden practice swords and began to practice some moves. Of course, it would be more fun to practice against a real opponent.

Peter grinned. "With another swordsman? I'd love to. Till a time or until one calls out?"

"How's your stamina?" Bel asked with a grin of his own. "How long you think you can go?"

"I'm not too concerned about it," Peter replied. "Let's see how it goes then."

He moved onto the mats, saluting Bel with his practice sword.

"Works for me," Bel said. He saluted Peter, then took a defensive stance. "Let's go."

Peter began circling to the left, moving slowly enough to encourage an attack. Watching Bel carefully, he cut in to Bel's left aiming a slash towards Bel's torso.

Bel swung his sword across his body, parrying the blow. He twisted his wrist and let the momentum carry the wooden blade toward Peter's right shoulder.

Peter danced out of the way of Bel's strike as he brought his sword back to an attack position. With a grin, he closed again, attempting a lower strike at Bel's belly.

Bel stepped back, but not quickly enough, and the tip of the sword grazed his stomach. "Nice," he said, his estimation of Peter going up. He lunged forward again, going low, swiping at Peter's legs.

Peter saw the strike coming and decided he didn't quite have time to move completely out of the way. He moved into the shot slightly to deflect part of the blow and make sure it landed on his greaves (which he was only wearing in his mind), and, taking advantage of Bel's lowered weapon, aimed a strike directly at Bel's chest.

Bel raised his sword to parry and spun, arcing his sword toward the left side of Peter's torso. Pity that left his own left side wide open.

Moving to his right to avoid Bel's strike, Peter took advantage of the opening left by Bel's spin and arced his own sword towards the left of Bel's torso.

Bel grunted as the sword landed a solid hit. "Point to you," he said, saluting Peter.

Peter nodded and saluted back. He stepped back, bouncing on the balls of his feet, waiting for Bel's next move.

Bel feinted to the left, then aggressively thrust at Peter's right.

Peter parried most of Bel's thrust though part of it still landed on his right shoulder. Shaking off the blow, he stepped into Bel's arm, trying to keep his sword out of play. Pivoting, he struck at Bel's left shoulder strongly.

Bel caught the motion of the sword and dropped low, letting it pass over his head. At this point he might've cheated and shimmered behind Peter, but he fought off that urge and instead jabbed upward towards Peter's stomach.

Peter threw himself backwards to avoid Bel's thrust omg not dirty. He danced a bit to the right and then feinting high towards Bel's shoulder, he reversed his blow to a thrust at his thigh.

Bel slid to his right to avoid the thrust to his thigh and you call that not dirty?. He spun right, bringing his sword down toward Peter's back.

Peter turns enough to take the strike on his side instead of his back, but it's a palpable hit. He disengages and salutes with a grin. "And a well-struck point to you, Bel."

"You're good," Bel remarked, taking a step back and adjusting his stance.

"As are you," Peter replied. He took a step or two before sending his blade flying towards Bel's side.

Bel ducked to the side and moved behind Peter as he lunged forward. He brought his sword up and swung down at Peter's back.

Peter spun to parry Bel's sword with his blade. With a shift in stance, he aimed his sword in a slash at Bel's knees.

Bel darted backwards, but the sword clipped his left leg. While Peter's sword was down, however, he swung up, aiming a blow at Peter's lowered shoulder.

Already at a lower stance, Peter ducked under Bel's sword. Straightening up, he feinted another low blow, then swung his sword in an arc towards Bel's left shoulder.
