Meerkat Campfire, evening

The cabin is back, or visible at least since it never really went anywhere. She survived cheerleading practice without injury and the rain seems to have stopped. All in all, not a bad day. Now it's time to sit back, relax and enjoy the last campfire and the last s'more for a while.

Tyler examined the cabin in the glow of the fire. "It looks like it got a tan," he said. "Maybe it got sick of the rain and went to find a real beach."

"Even cabins need vacations, right?" Dawn said, leaning back on her heels. "Ours more than most."

"It's had a busy couple weeks?," Tyler asked.

He looked around the campground. "The cabins look so sedate."

[identity profile] lilpunkinbelly.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
"It has. Probably should have taken yours with it, given them both a break," Dawn shrugged. "They do. But the school looks lonely."

"Maybe after we move back to the dorms, our cabins will run off together, never to be heard from again," Tyler shrugged. "The love ballad of the meerkat and the stickbug."

"Sounds like there's a lot of that going around," Dawn said, glancing at where Isabel and Greg were sitting. "Sounds like an opera or a country song."

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
"It would probably make a lot of money," Tyler agreed.

He glanced at Greg and Isabel himself. "Young love. Sweet."

"Isn't it?" Dawn looked at him curiously. "So, what about you? Girlfriend back home? Pining for someone at camp? Or you can tell me to butt out."

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
"But out," Tyler deadpanned, but it was clear he wasn't serious, because he immediately spoke again.

"Weird, weird relationship back home that I think is over. Had one date with Max Guevara but not sure it's going anywhere. So I guess I'm single."

"What about you? Secretly married, destined for the convent, dating someonr?"

[identity profile] lilpunkinbelly.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Dating someone, but the convent hasn't taken me off their membership roster yet," Dawn answered. "I don't think I've met Max yet, but I'm sorry it's not going anywhere if you are."

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not sure. I like her, but I'm not writing emo poetry about it yet," Tyler shrugged. "I'll see her when I see her. Who are you dating?"

[identity profile] lilpunkinbelly.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, if you're not at emo poetry stage after the first date, it's never going to work out, right?" She smiled at him, amused. "Aren't those the teenage rules? I'm dating Dean Winchester."

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Exactly. Her name isn't written on my sneakers, so I must not like her."

Tyler raised an eyebrow. "Alec's double? He seems like a nice guy."

[identity profile] lilpunkinbelly.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
"He is," she said, then showed him her sneakers, which were lacking Dean's name. "But we're not at the sharpie stage yet either."

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
"I have faith that you'll get there," Tyler said. "And then, who knows. Mix CDs?"

[identity profile] lilpunkinbelly.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
She shrugged. "I don't know. A mix CD is one step down from wearing his leather jacket in front of my guardians. I'm too young to get that serious."

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
"It's good to know you aren't moving too fast. I approve," Tyler said seriously.

Then, "How old are you, anyhow? I'm 16 in November."

[identity profile] lilpunkinbelly.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
"16." Not having a birthday made questions like that surprisingly tricky.

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Huh. You're older than I am," Tyler shrugged. "Are you a junior or a sophomore?"

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Sophomore," Tyler said. "So does that make you a bitchy upperclassman now?"

[identity profile] lilpunkinbelly.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
"I guess that's up to you to decide?"

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
Tyler smiled. "You seem okay so far."

[identity profile] lilpunkinbelly.livejournal.com 2006-06-04 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Thanks. You're okay yourself."
