4th Floor Common Room: Thursday Evening

Blair checked that the common room was empty before sneaking in and setting close to the television. His package arrived in the mail today and he had been waiting until now to pop it into the DVD player.

Doing one final check around the room he reached up and hit play, bouncing excitedly as the theme song music for "Runner, Texas Ranger" started.

Cause the eyes of a ranger are upon you, any wrong you do he's going to see. When you're in Texas, look behind you...cause that's where the rangers gonna be.

Blair is totally not singing and bouncing along to the theme song. At all.

"That's okay," Bridge says with a smile. "I totally didn't mean to freak you out or anything."

"I didn't think you did," Marie tells him. "So how'd you become a ferret anyway?"

"Uh," Bridge says a bit sheepishly. "I sort of... leaned up against a tree who wasn't actually a tree, but a person who wasn't too happy about being a tree."

That was... sort of the truth.

"A person got turned in to a tree?" Marie said. "That's somehow creepier than turning into an animal I think."

"Well, it wasn't actually the first time it happened. At least, to this particular person."

"Wow. So the person who was a tree turned you into a ferret to make you as miserable as them?"

"Uh, that may not have been exactly, I mean, he's not like, a bad guy or anything, really, there was, um..." Bridge blushes and looks down at the floor.

Marie blushes too, remembering that Xander was with Bridge when he changed, and assuming she knows what Bridge is hinting at. "So what's the best thing about being human again?" she asks in an effort to change the subject.

"Actually being able to talk to people and have them understand me!" Bridge says immediately. "Also, opposable thumbs. Go opposable thumbs!"

"I can imagine it would be frustrating trying to communicate," Marie agrees. "And we sure take our opposable thumbs for granted, don't we?"

"It totally was," Bridge makes a face. "And yeah, I've never really appreciated how nice it is to be able things like *open doors* until I spent a week as a ferret."

"At least you had someone to take good care of you," Marie points out.

"Yeah," Bridge grins, kinda goofily. "That's very true."

Marie smiles. "Did the radio say something about you and Xander celebrating an anniversary?"

"Yep!" Bridge bounces. "That was Tuesday- though for some reason for a while I'd thought it was Monday and that we'd missed it, but it turned out that I was, like, a day ahead of myself or something. So it all worked out."

"Good," Marie says. "I can tell you guys are really happy together."
