Bridge is sitting on the floor in front of RIC, and typing.... on the carpet? He pauses every so often to glance at a small LCD screen that's sitting off to one side.

He may look busy, but he's totally interruptable.

"Also, we're trying to make him look like a German Shepherd, but I think that needs some adjustments."

Peter made a face. "I think he's better now than he would be as a German anything. What does he do? Normal dog things?"

"He's a police dog. He tracks criminals and does surveillance and stuff. But I thought he'd be less conspicuous if he wasn't, y'know, a robot dog. So, German Shepherd."

"Unless maybe you were tracking really, really stupid criminals?"

For some reason, that made Z think of Jack. She looked slightly depressed for a moment before saying brightly, "Well, they're criminals. They're usually not that bright to start with."

Peter felt like he had stepped in something there and wished he could backtrack. "I suppose. Though if that's the case, then cops and robbers movies? Not nearly as interesting as I thought."

"Yeah, the movies would be really boring if the robbers were that dumb, huh?"

"Rather," Peter said. "How've you been doing? I don't think I've seen you since the first week here."

"Great," Z told him. "It's really awesome here, you know? Everybody's nice. Except, oh, I fought mummies."

"Really?" Peter said with interest. "How did that go?"

"We killed all the mummies. Um, killed them again, I guess. So, well?"

"As long as no one got killed in return," Peter said. "And I may be slightly not paying attention, but I'm definitely sure I'd notice that."
