Bridge is sitting on the floor in front of RIC, and typing.... on the carpet? He pauses every so often to glance at a small LCD screen that's sitting off to one side.

He may look busy, but he's totally interruptable.

"Ooh, you might get a chance again this year?" Cally said. "Sorry, I kinda don't know how this whole football thing works. Haven't really paid attention, and we don't have it at home, you see."

"It's a worldwide tournament once every four years. There were 32 teams, and we're just breaking down to 16. It's the biggest sporting event on this planet." Peter grinned. "But I can see why you don't have footie at home. Anders taught me how to play Pyramid this morning, and that's just about as fun."

"Oh, he did?" Cally smiled. "I take it you liked it, then?"

"I did indeed," Peter replied with a bigger grin. "Except now I rather hurt."

"Yeah, he can be kind of rough if you don't restrain him," Cally said. "He's going to try and make you do it on a regular basis now."

"I'm not worried," Peter said. "It was fun. I'll be more than happy to play again. Other than it being fun, he definitely bailed us out by agreeing to play basketball at the last minute last week."

"That's true," Cally said. "Still sorry I missed seeing him play. Did he do alright?"

"Certainly he did," Peter replied with a nod. "He was ace, all the way. Next time, we'll definitely win. Maybe you'll be able to come then."

"Hopefully," Cally said. "Course, I know I'm gonna have to make it up to him on Thursday. It's his birthday, and everything."

"I'm sure he'll appreciate that," Peter said. Totally missing the possible dirty. "Ooh, may I ask you a question, Cally? As you're a girl and a girlfriend and probably have a better viewpoint than I do?"

"Ooookay?" Cally said. "Fire away."

"Is there ever a bad time to give a girl a present?" Peter asked. "I know a girl who wasn't able to celebrate her birthday last year, and I wanted to give her a birthday present of some sort. But at home, you don't really give presents unless one is rather seriously attached. I wanted to make sure a present would be taken as an 'i think you're special and want you to be happy' rather than what it would be at home - which is a betrothal gift."

Cally blinks. "Okay, I'm going to guess that no girl here would take anything as being a bethrothal gift. Most girls are just going to be all giddy about getting presents. So I say go for it."

Peter grinned in a way that could possibly be described as doofy. "Good. That was my hope. Thank you, Cally."

"No problem," Cally said. "Though don't take my advice as scripture, though. I mean, just cause I'm a girl doesn't mean I think like all of them."

"I shall keep that in mind," Peter said with a slight bow. He yawned and promptly looked incredibly embarassed. "And if you'll excuse, I think that is my cue to go to bed."
