2nd Floor Common Room [Tuesday Evening]

Bridge is sitting on the floor in front of RIC, and typing.... on the carpet? He pauses every so often to glance at a small LCD screen that's sitting off to one side.

He may look busy, but he's totally interruptable.

Conner nodded. "I never thought of it as magic, but it was cool knowing how to do all that stuff all of a sudden. I'm starting to forget, though, so maybe I should get some practice in."

"It would be magic in my world," Peter said with a shrug. "Maybe it's not in yours? If nothing else, if you practice, next time you have to pick up a sword, you won't need any magic." He grinned.

"I think you might be right about that. Thanks, man," Conner said. "I guess I'll have to start out with some of that practice stuff in the gym, since, uh, it'll be kind of hard to get a hold of what I used to use."

Peter was now having a hard time restraining his curiosity but being British rather helped. "There are a few good practice weapons in there," Peter said. "Just watch out for the unbalanced ones. And if you'd ever like someone to work with, give me a yell."

"That'd be cool," Conner replied. "I'd like that. Who knows? I might need to use those skills again someday."

"Always good to know how to fight as many ways as possible," Peter agreed. "Besides, I have an ulterior motive. I think more people should use swords around here."

"More people to spar with?"

"That," Peter grinned. "And fewer people to ask why I don't use a gun like a normal person."

"They're safer, too, if you really think about it," Conner agreed. "It's kind of hard to hide a sword, so you can't really sneak around with one. I'm not really big on guns either. Well, laser guns, maybe, but those are sort of different."

Well, crap. Now he was going to have to explain that one.

"You can rarely sneak around with one, and it very difficult to kill from a distance," Peter agreed. "Hard to argue with that." He looked curious at the mention of the laser gun and finally overrode his reserve. "What are laser guns? And where are you from that you use them?"
