Third Floor Common Room - Sunday Morning

After dealing with monsters and ghosts the night before, Sam had almost forgotten about his promise to Dean to help him with brunch in the morning. They'd made a run into town for more eggs, and some bacon, and Dean was busy fixing the real food while Sam made toast. It was a much safer operation that way, really.

Buffy followed the smell of food from D's room, still dressed in her pjs from last night. "Hey boys and Dawn. Food?" she inquired before flopping down in a chair and resting her head in her hands.

"Rough night?" Dean asked, raising an eyebrow.

"No, not really." Buffy yawned, placing her hand over her mouth. "I fell asleep before they brought out the booze." She grinned. "I looked into the other room before coming down and they looked really cozy, all curled up like kittens."

"Everyone still have their clothes on?" Dean asked with a straight face.

"Yup! Even Alec!" She sounded slightly amazed.

Dean feigned astonishment. "Wow. Wasn't sure that was possible with Alec."

"Well, it was with D and Cal, so I guess maybe he has some kind self-preservation instincts..."

"Yeah, even Alec might hesitate before seriously hitting on Cal."

"She has lots of shiny knife things," Buffy nodded. She still wasn't entirely sure whether to put Callisto on the 'Evil' list or the 'To Be Admired' list. "So! What have you been up to then?"

"Morning, Buffy," Dawn said, then, without explaining, went over and hugged her.

Buffy hugged her back, confused. "Uh, hi Dawn. How're you doing?"

"Bad night," she said simply, "but I'm better now." She let go of Buffy, and stepped away, a bit awkwardly. "Sorry about that. I, er, forgot. For a minute."

Buffy frowned at her. "No, that's okay, I don't mind so much. Well, not anymore. 'Cause I kind of know you now, so it's different... What kind of bad night?" She thought about what kind of bad nights she herself usually had. "Did you have nightmares about vampires?"

"Um, no." She took a few steps back, just in case Buffy threw a fit, "I went to fight the demon that was haunting people last night and ended up getting haunted myself."

"Do you have a lot of nightmares about vampires?"

"Sometimes," Buffy dismissed it, frowning deeper. "You were haunted? By something evil?"

"Um...sort of," Dawn answered, looking down at the floor. "It imitated someone I knew and said...things."

Buffy didn't like the sound of that. "Did it say mean things? Is it slayed or should I slay it?"

She both looked and sounded concerned, so she'd gone a pretty long way from running away whenever Dawn showed up.

"Hey," Sam greeted Buffy. He was hit with a sudden gratefulness that she hadn't been with them last night, and went over to give her a kiss. "We have food, yes. What would you like?"

Buffy beamed at the kiss, tilting her head back to give him better access. "Do you have toast?"

"We have lots of toast, and I haven't burned much any of it," Sam said proudly, leaning in for another kiss.

Buffy giggled into the kiss. "Go you!"

"I'm trying to get Dean to let me cook real food next week. He's resisting, for the moment, but I think I can wear him down."

Buffy reached out to curl her arm around his neck. "I like pancakes and cereal," she informed him.

Sam flushed a bit at the increased contact, and grinned. "I'll have to keep that in mind. I think I can accomplish making pancakes."

"For Berthold too? I think he liked them when I gave him some of Pippi's," Buffy said thoughtfully, and pulled Sam closer for yet another kiss. Yay kissy!
