Flamingo campfire, Monday evening

Ivanova hadn't really unpacked, so moving into the cabin hadn't been much of a stretch. An early night had meant that her body had gotten the sleep it needed to kick back onto Fandom time. Now, she had found an Adirondak chair somewhere, got a little crackling fire going, and kicked back to enjoy. Fresh air, open sky . . .

It was good to be home.

Alphonse wandered by, carrying a paper bag full of the brownies that were made earlier. "Hey!"

Ivanova laughed. "Yo, Al! Boy, do I feel popular tonight . . ."

Alphonse chuckled in response. "Want a brownie? I made 'em with Setsuna earlier today."

"Sure! I'm never one to turn down free chocolately goodness. Who's Setsuna?"

"Oh! She's one of the new students," Alphonse answered, opening up the bag for her. "We paired up in Piper's workshop today."

Ivanova nodded. Great. More names to learn. She wondered how many new students would be in her workshop on Thursday. "You've never really struck me as the culinary type."

"Nah, I don't really cook much," Alphonse said. "But it's something different. 'Sides, I always had fun doing it as a kid, and in the end I get stuff like this!"

"Anything that results in brownies is okay with me! I can barely manage potatoes without burning them."

"I made a few mistakes myself," Alphonse admitted. "Apparently I'm not good with microwaves or cracking eggs."

Piper smiled at Alphonse. "Good job today."

"Thanks! We had a lot of fun making them."

"Oh, good. The workshop is supposed to be fun. At least I hope."

"Well, at least Setsuna and I enjoyed it," Alphonse assured. "So I'm looking forward to next week."

"Next week's assignment should be interesting." There might have been a mischievous look on her face as she said that.

"Oh?" He caught the look on Piper's face. "Any way I could convince you to spill a hint for me?"

"Probably not," Piper said, the look on her face now one of innocence.

"Not even with brownies?" Alphonse lifted up the bag he held.

"Hi Al," Joxer said with a wave. No, it wasn't dirt on Joxer's face. You must be imagining things.

"Hi Joxer," Alphonse greeted. "How've you been lately?"

"Other than my ball volley loss, things have been fine," Joxer said. "How about you?"

"Aww. Well, was it fun at least?" he asked. "I've been great! In fact," Alphonse opened up his paper bag towards Joxer. "Want a brownie? I've got a lot of them on me, so I may as well give them out."

"Oooh, brownie," Joxer said, snagging one. "Thanks, Al. You bake these?"

"Uh-huh, earlier today with Setsuna," Alphonse answered. "I figured they'd be a nice treat to pass around, even if they're my first attempt with them."

Joxer took a bite. "You did good work," he said. "You should be proud of yourself."

"Thank you!" Alphonse beamed. "We tried our best with them. I'm really happy everyone seems to like them so much."
