2nd Floor Common Room [Saturday Afternoon]

After recieving textmessages from Xander updating him on the situation- and the fact that everyone was going to be confined to dorms tonight- Bridge decided to venture out of 121 and up to the second floor common room. He's got the TV on and is sort of half-paying attention to it. Mostly it's just there to drown out the eerie quietness.

Xander typed something to us about monsters and cutting out hearts Anakin made a face and wiped the board.

Wish I could do something.

Rory looked much less pleased with the silence, suddenly.

We're safe in here, though, right?

Anakin caught the shift in Rory's emotions and shifted a little closer.

Wouldn't let anything hurt you, he wrote, then erased it quickly.

Rory gave him a small smile and wrote I know. But it can't even get to us, right?

Nope, Anakin wrote. He didn't actually know that, but that had never stopped him before.

Rory paused, and then in very tiny writing, wrote, Will you stay with me and make sure they don't get me? and erased it almost immediately.

Anakin gave her a reassuring smile. Of course.

This is frustrating she wrote, frowning.

Anakin nodded, then grinned.

Rory laughed silently.

Rory gave him a sidelong look and wrote Okay. But don't you have to be Mr. Graduated Senior Authority Figure Guy?

Anakin pouted.

Yes.

He gave her a small smile. Want to play *actual* Scrabble?

Can play figurative Scrabble later, maybe she suggested before erasing it. Actual Scrabble sounds fine.

Be right back, Anakin promised, getting up and disappearing from the common room.

He returned with the Scrabble board and his banthabell in case he needed to get everyone's attention.

I shall win she told him, looking slightly cocky.

Anakin gave her an eloquent "Oh, please," look, then set up the board.

Incorrectly, since he'd never actually played before.

Rory rolled her eyes and fixed it.

Anakin bit his lip and looked embarassed.

Rory held up her board, where she had written It's okay with a smiley face.

She handed him the instructions.

Anakin read through the instructions quickly, then reached for the bag of letter tiles.

Bring it on, he wrote, grinning.

Rory doled out the tiles and considered hers before carefully setting out the word "sky," making sure the K was in the middle of the board.

Anakin looked at the tiles in front of him, then added an A and a S to the K on the board.

He wasn't very good at this.

Rory smiled and added an F and an L to his "ask."

Anakin added U, N to Rory's F.

Anakin had gotten some really crappy tiles.
