Dawn was stretched out on one of the couches and flipping through channels.

"Oooh, sharks."

After a few minutes, she was feeling a bit hungry, so she got up to make herself a sandwich. Any resemblance between the song she was humming and the Teeth theme song was purely coincidental.

It was perhaps not a huge surprise that, after a strenuous afternoon of lying with Pippi and Parker, a little shark action was exactly what Tyler wanted on TV.

He came into the common room and flopped into a chair.

Nadia was feeling a bit better after beating the crap out of sparring with Joxer in the gym and wandered up to the third floor to find Walter people.

"Oh, hey, Tyler,"

Tyler raised his fingers in an abbreviated wave. "Hi Nadia. So you came back."

Walter came in after work and spotted Nadia talking to Tyler. He made his way over to say hello to them both. "Hey."

"So it would seem. How are you?" Nadia turned and smiled at Walter. "Hey,"

"Decent," Tyler said. "Kicked Parker's ass in lying class. Pippi rocks. Lost at basketball, again." And that might be a smile playing around his lips, as he had noticed Nadia at the game, even if they hadn't exactly talked. "And yourself?"

"Hey." Walter smiled back and nodded to Tyler. "Why does Pippi rock? Other than the usual?"

"So in lying class," Tyler said, nodding to Nadia as he remembered, duh, she'd been in class too, "Jarod had us improvise these situations where we were in trouble and had to lie our way out of it, and it turned into this saga about zombie mooses and cell phones and silk and ..." His voice trailed off, and he shrugged. "I respect a girl who can keep a story like that straight. Pippi never blinked."

Nadia nodded. "She's good at that. I'm pretty sure I beat Joxer in that class. He kind of just flailed."

Did that during the sparring match, too. Huh.

"He seems to flail a lot," Walter interjected. "I'm not surprised Pippi did well, though. No offense to Lucas, but I'd rather have tried out your class than been forced to sing spirituals."

Tyler snickered. "You don't seem like the spirituals sort," he told Walter. Then he remembered something. "Hey, is River in that class? I haven't seen her since the game."

"I'm not the singing in public without large amounts of alcohol type," Walter said. With one notable exception.

"Yes, she's there. She sang, too, today." And had seemed mostly okay again.

Nadia made a face. "Did she bite anyone in that class?"

Tyler looked affronted. "Bite?"

"No, she didn't bite anyone," Walter said, frowning. "She seemed calm enough today."

Cally waved at Walter, with an expression that may have read 'we need to talk'.

Or it possibly may have read 'I think a gerbil just ate my liver from the inside'.

Walter broke away from Nadia and Tyler to find out what happened to Cally's liver.

"Hey."

"Heeeeey," Cally said. "Erm, uhhh... we're cool, right?"

"We're fine," Walter assured her. "You're not mad about how I behaved?"

"I'm surprised you're not mad at how I behaved," Cally said. "I shoulda tried to do something, not just let you go."

Walter shrugged. Hurray for learned tact that prevented him from saying something like, "I already know you'll take what attention you can get."

Instead he said, "It's not as though I hadn't kissed you before, right?"

Cally nodded. "Yep. Just different circumstances, that's all," she said.

Walter nodded. "Right. So, I'm not mad at you. You stopped when you realized I wasn't really thinking like me. I should thank you for that."

"If I had any guts I woulda, like, lured you to my bedroom and tied you up," Cally said. "I know gremlin bites can be kinda. . . badness."

"Instead of sending me off to get tasered by Veronica?" Walter asked, giving a hard look that was mostly feigned.
