Just outside Hunting 101 classroom: Period 7

Blair was furious that there was a hunting class at the school. Like the students didn't have enough violent tendencies without having a class on how to kill things. There'd be no hope for a peaceful response the next time an invasion happened. Something had to be done.

Which is why Blair is standing in the hallway outside of the hunting classroom holding up a sign that says 'Hunting = Murder'.

Bel, hurrying into class almost late, blinked at Blair.

"Don't do it, man!" Blair said. "Resist the violence!"

Bel stared at Blair.

"Hello, demon," he said.

"You should be even more against a class on hunting." Blair said firmly.

"Think they're gonna use me for target practice?" Bel smirked.

Peter frowned consideringly at Blair as he entered the classroom. "Your sign makes no sense. Murder is illegal."

Blair turned and glared at the door to the classroom. "They better not! I'll...I'll...I'll get a petition going!"

He turned and looked at Bel hopefully. "I brought an extra sign if you want to help protest, man."

"Hunting should be too!" Blair replied.

"I think it'll be bad for my grade if I protest the class I'm taking," Bel said. "Besides, can't hurt to pick up a few tips on hunting other demons and ghosts and stuff. That's why I'm taking it."

"Why?" Peter asked.

"bad for your grade...how about bad for your karma?" Blair muttered and rolled his eyes. "Sure, man. I'm sure there's loads of important facts you can learn in there. That's how it all gets started and next thing you know you're laughing like a loon while you chase innocents around in a bright orange suit!"

"Because everything should have a chance to coexist peacefully." Blair nodded. "Instead of living in fear that they're going to be killed by a kid out on a macho head trip."

Bel sighed. "Look at it this way, Blair. If I went evil, don't you think you'd want to have people who knew how to deal with me around?"

Blair blinked. "Are you kidding me, man? If you go evil I want people who know how to turn you back not a class full of kids who have been trained to hunt you down!"

"If I lost my soul, killing me could be the only option," Bel pointed out. "Don't know if the resouling ritual would work for me."

"It's a class on how to kill evil creatures that are terrorising innocents. Does that particularly sound like they want to coexist peacefully?"

"Wouldn't you want us to try that before shooting you in the head?" Blair asked. "Just in case it did work?"

"What came first...the terrorising innocents or the hunters killing them because they were different?" Blair shook his head. "Maybe the reason that monsters hurt people is because they were hurt first. They're just lashing out against a world that demonizes their differences."

"We should really be offering monster counseling."

"Well, yes," Bel said. He tried a different approach. "What if the Underworld finds out I'm alive and comes after me here? People gotta be able to defend themselves."

"I have a plan to get you out of here if that happens." Blair nodded. "And if you're gone, then the Underworld guys won't have any reason to stick around."

Bel raised an eyebrow. "A plan?"

"Yup!" Blair bounced. "It's a great plan, man. With rockets and space and everything!"

River happened to walk down the hallway, and when she noticed Blair she pulled out a pink glitter pen. "Can I add something?" she asked.

Peter looked at Blair, trying to figure out if he were serious. "I live in a world with talking animals, fauns, and dryads. Demonizing differences isn't really a major problem. Yet we still have evil creatures who held the country under their sway and in terror for a century. How exactly should one deal with tyrants?"

"Hi River!" Blair grinned. "Sure." He turned the sign to the back side and held it out to her.
