Rory sat on the couch, idly tossing Vladdie's ball straight up into the air for him to leap up and retrieve.

She also had an eye on the television screen, which was featuring something new every few minutes as Rory's attention span gave out and she changed it.

"Cross-species communication, Prophecy, the Prophecy lab, Literature, and Hunting," Dawn answered just as promptly. "So far I like them all a lot. Creepy man in a mask?"

"His name is V," Luke said. "White mask, black wig, swooshy cape. Very strange."

"I just don't understand the appeal of a good cape," Dawn mused, "though a long leather trenchcoat is a whole 'nother story."

"It's kind of tan."

"What's it made out of?" Dawn asked, "because it's hard to be all swoopy and impressive in a crocheted poncho."

"Not crocheted!" Luke said. "Just regular cloth. No flowers or anything."

"Hmmm. That seems like it might have potential." Except for the poncho part. "Kinda depends on how you wear it, I think. My sister says it's all attitude."

"I wear it over my head," Luke said. He's unfortunately literal at times.

"No," Dawn said, already giggling, "it's about how you wear it, like how two people can wear the same shirt, but on one person it looks awkward and on the other it doesn't. Like...if Dean and Alec had the same shirt, it wouldn't look the same on them, because they carry themselves so differently."
