The 3rd floor Common Room Thursday Evening 9/14

Lavender is cooking up a storm. It had all started when she decided it was her turn to cook after all the free food she’d eaten in the common rooms since she arrived in Fandom. But it looks like she got a little carried away.

On the table is a tray piled with Cornish pasties, a large bowl of mashed potatoes, a plate of fried tomatoes, another bowl filled with peas and carrots, a roast chicken and a pitcher of gravy. She was just leaning down to take out a vegetable casserole and then she was going to put in the Spotted Dick She hoped she'd made enough.

She’d also set out a large pitcher of pumpkin juice.

Damnit I left the fudge in my room! she thought to herself, wiping her hands on her apron.

"Like my roommate's from the future," Luke said, nodding. "The things you get used to around here, huh?"

"Which one's your roommate?" Peter asked. "And it really, really is. One of my little sisters? Is here as the school counselor. And about 15 or so years older than me."

"Z Delgado," Luke said. "And my father was here until a few weeks ago, so I can understand the strangeness."

"Ah, Z, she's lovely, yes," Peter said. He ducked his head. "Anakin was - a great warrior. I was honoured to know him."

"You knew my father?" Luke's eyes were apologetic. "I should just go around with a placard until I've met everyone, huh?"

Peter shook his head. "Not at all - about the placard. I assumed you were Anakin's son when I heard your last name in class." He smiled ruefully. "It must be quite an experience for you. Coming here."

"It's been a bit on the surreal side, yeah," Luke agreed. "How did you know him?"

"I was in his Flight class first Summer session," Peter said. He grinned. "I was a bit excited about learning to fly. And he taught me lightsaber forms."

"You know lightsaber forms?" Luke's eyes lit up. "Do you think you could show me?" He bit his lip. "I have his lightsaber, but my old teacher only got to teaching me the very, very basics before he died."

Peter blinked, slightly astonished. "You don't know the forms?" He nodded. "Definitely, I could show you. I'm sorry about your teacher." Thinking for a second, Peter added, "Anakin used to work out in the salle downstairs with a sign on the door to make sure no one walked in on him."

"Did he use a remote, too?" Luke gave a rueful smile. "Bet he didn't get shot the ass."

"You're right, he didn't," Peter said, smiling back. "Everytime I watched he was using four or so at once." Peter shook his head. "It was very impressive bladework."

"Wish I could've seen it," Luke said. "My instructions were more along the lines of 'glowing end away from the important ship parts, Skywalker,' and I knew that part already." He focused on the floor. "The lightsaber duel I did get to see didn't exactly have a happy ending."

"You know, I'm not sure that the 'not cutting the ship' part could possibly be overstated." Peter watched him sympathetically, a thought occurring to him. He shut it away in case it didn't work out. "Was it recently?"

Luke nodded. "Just before I arrived here," he said. "Ben Kenobi was killed by the Ethics teacher." Luke snorted. "I'm not exactly inclined to ask him for lessons."
